I am on modified bedrest due to my cervix shortening and some funneling. I started this 6 weeks ago, but as of last week my dr. told me I could become more "liberal" in my activities because my cervix has stabilized. I think cervix issues is the most popular reason to go on bedrest.

    Are you on bedrest?

I went on bedrest at 18 weeks for a shortening cervix. Had a cerclage shortly after, and stayed on bedrest until
    almost 36 weeks!
No preterm labor stuff, no contractions or anything like that. Just the short cervix.

I went on bedrest at 28 weeks and now I'm 33 weeks. My doctor put me on bedrest because I was having some pelvic pressure and it turned out I was dilated to 1 and was 50% effaced then. As of know, I'm still a 1 but am 75% effaced. She said after 34 she would probably take me off bedrest and I could move around the house more.

I went on bedrest at 33w5d due to preterm labor. I had light blood in the morning, went it just to be sure and apparently I was contracting every 2 minutes and I was 4cm dialated. Who knew? :)

I was put on low physical activity and lengthened rest (liberal bed rest) at 14 weeks due to complications with previous pregnancy (poor implantation and pre-e) and the fact that I had a vertical c-section 8 months ago. So far, my blood pressure has stayed rock bottom, so I'm hoping at the next visit he will give me a little more freedom! :)

I was put on home-restriction with limited activity at 31 weeks because of a positive fetal fibronectin test and a LOT of braxton hicks contractions.
However, my cervix is just as it should be, so the doctor didn't put me on full bedrest. However, no leaving my house except for doctor's appointments and take it easy at home as much as possible.

Three days later, I was having braxton hicks contractions 3-6 minutes apart and ended up making my first trip to Labor and Delivery. All was fine -- cervix still fine. The doctor on call wasn't aware of my limitations already, as he basically said to do the same thing my doctor had -- and see my doctor this week (appointment already scheduled).

My husband, however, observed that when I was laying down, my contractions stopped..so HE put me on stricter limitations LOL Today was my first day spent entirely on the couch in a recling position, or in bed laying down..and I had the least contractions in as long as I can remember, so I guess there's something to it.

I was put on bedrest at 30 weeks. At my 30 weeks appt. they discovered that Addison (baby A) was way smaller than Ava and that she had a low fluid level. Up until then both girls were just slightly different and fluid levels were fine. At that point I saw my drs twice a week until they were born at 38 weeks 4 days. Addison's fluid level never was normal again but she grew and was actually a tad bit heavier than Ava! Now she is a tiny peanut at only 16 pounds 12 oz!

I was put on bedrest at 26 weeks due to severe pelvic pressure and pain and soon after "irritable uterus" which caused constant contractions without dilation. I have to be off my feet 70 - 80% of the day. I am currently on weekly appointments and still no dialation, so I would like to assume the bedrest is working.

My doctor takes all mom's of twins out of work at 28 weeks to reduce stress and hopefully reduce the risk of PTL. I was told to be inactive at that point, so I just kind of took it easy. At 30 weeks and 3 days my Baby A was only at 10% for growth and Baby B was at 50%. My boys are mono/di, so that difference was concerning. That is when my doctor officially put me on bedrest.

I was put on bed rest at 22wks for short cervix and emergency cerclage. I was also 1cm dilated when they put the cerclage in. I was on bedrest from 22wks-35wks in the hospital.

I plan on requesting bedrest after Christmas or before... depending on how annoyed I am at work! tee hee. I can totally do my job from home, so I will ask to go on modified bedrest when either I truly need it or I can't take sitting at a computer for 8 hours straight anymore. I'm glad I have a flexible dr. He'll put me on whenever I want. ;) I still get paid while on bedrest, so that won't be an issue.

I was put on bedrest at 25 weeks due to being dialated to 1 cm. . .I have a history of PTL (among other high risk factors such as chronic high blood pressure, and baby B has too much fluid-polyhydramnios) so they didn't want to take any chances. . .I am still at 1 cm but my blood pressure has been going up so now I am dealing with that. . .I rec'd steroid shots last week and will start NST's next week (at 28 weeks). . .

Hospitalized and released to strict bedrest from PTL (dilated 3 cm and contracting every 3 minutes) at 32 weeks until my water broke at 36 weeks.

  24. I started strict bed rest almost two weeks ago. I was having too many contractions in an hour (more than 5) every afternoon while I was on my feet and some mornings as well. I also had some brown mucusy ick last week. My cervix is still long (4cm) but I have some funneling. I'm hoping that my peri will loosen up the rules a bit at my appointment tomorrow since the contractions have really slowed down since I've been on bedrest and my cervix has stayed the same length.

    Good luck!

I was put on modified bed rest at 28 weeks due to cramping, contractions and some bleeding. I'm 34 weeks and still on bed rest with only the occasional contraction and very minimal cramping. No dilation or cervical changes at all yet!

I had little periods of doctor-ordered bedrest that were related to our TTTS - Both times I had amnioreductions I was put on full bedrest for 3-4 days and then at just before 35 weeks, I was put on bedrest again because Sierra had stopped growing.

Of my own accord, I was on partial bedrest most of the pregnancy to help stabilize the TTTS.
