sooo i found this really cheap at walmart. i refuse to spend tons of money on a bedding set, and was going to do without one. but the price on this is so low i might be willing.. im having b/g- does this look too boyish/girlish, and do you think its ugly. lol i more drawn to the price than the look of it- tho its cute, i dunno if id want to look at it all the time :)

Are you using that for both of them? I think it is really cute, but definitely looks more girlish to me. JMO.

I think it is cute and pretty neutral to me. I would use it for a boy or a girl.

I think it's great I too am having b/g twins and I'm actually going with the cream colored bedding set at Wal-Mart I think it made by George it has the teddy bear on the tag and I will just add pink and blue blankets one on each end

It is cute. Go with how you feel about it. You don't sound like you really like it and since you are the one who has to look at it, that is what matters.

I dont like it and I think you would get tired of it. IMO.

I am cheap too... you could try mixing and matching at Target, just solid colors... like pink and green? IDK, HTH!

I think it's cute enough, but I don't really see the need for a four piece bedding set. You can't use the blanket/quilt with babies anyways, so that part gets put in a closet. The bumpers are cute, but many people (me included) remove them as soon as the babies can move because they're a smothering and SIDS hazard. A dust ruffle might be nice, but depending on your crib, it might just look funny. So that leaves the sheet. I say take the $32 you would spend on one of these and buy several pairs of higher quality sheets for both of your cribs.

If you're looking for a way to incorporate a design/theme into your nursery, a good idea a friend gave me is to frame a cute piece of material. Get a cheap large wooden frame from a craft store and stretch any fabric you like across it and around the frame. Then just use your regular stapler to staple the fabric onto the back of the frame. You can get fabric with prints, animals, characters, etc. at a crafts store for much less than you'd spend on a bedding set and you'll have instant artwork for your nursery walls.

I love it for B/G twins! you can't go wrong with the bugs on it! I use my bedding sets...all the pieces! you can hang one of the quilts....or use them for blankets on the floor to play on...

I'm with you on the inexpensive bedding. I got so mad before my son was born at the prices they were charging for bedding sets. Plus, I have a changing table - what do I need a diaper stacker for? And his crib has a drawer, so a dust ruffle is pointless. You know what I mean?

I ended up, just by luck glancing at it on the shelf, finding a discontinued 4-pc set of Winnie the Pooh at Baby Depot for $26. Blanket, sheet, bumper, headboard thingy (attaches to bumper and covers about 3/4 of the "head" of the crib). The sheet got used all the time. The bumper and headboard thingy I left on until he was about 2yo and started sticking his limbs out of the crib bars under the bumper. (I know, suffocation hazard, many say.)

The blanket he absolutely adores, he has to have it every night, and we take it everywhere with us when he sleeps over someplace. It's almost woobie-like, but he (thankfully) doesn't tote it around during the day. In addition to another poster's idea to use it for a floor mat, I also used it for hide & seek and parachute games.

For the twins, I am planning to reuse the bumper, headboard-thingy and sheet. I hope to find a plain blue or Pooh blanket for each of them. Once they are in separate cribs, I will evaluate a second bumper.

So, after all that babbling, let me say that I like the set you picked out. If you are worried about the "girlie" factor, you can get a second blanket that picks up on one of the colors for your boy. Personally, I don't think it's girlie at all, though. If it were pink and lavender and full of cutesie bugs, I would say too girlie. But there's bright yellow, green, blue - plenty boyish enough.

I think its cute also but it looks more girlish. The only thing that matters is if you like it for both though.

We bought them each a fancy set and use the bed skirt and the sheet only. The bumpers and quilt were a SIDS hazard. I would say go out and buy 2 bed skirts and 2 sheets. It will be way cheaper and will meet your needs.

    I wasted $300!

wow i didnt think id get so many replies! :) i emailed my MIL and told her i found something i sorta liked and apparently she's already bought 2 bedding sets! good lord i hope i like them. and dh slipped a few months ago and told me she bought these friggin elmo chairs. like the big foam things? shes obsessed with elmo. good thing we're moving far away, good will here we come! lol unless the kids somehow become incredibly attached to all the ugly stuff she buys us. eh i guess its the thought that counts right? least its not dora! her head is WAY too big!

I agree with it looking more girly then neutral. I bought Addyson a whole bedding set and we use everything but the comforter, but it goes over the rocker. This time around, depending on what we are having will depend on what I get. I'm thinking about just buying the pieces and not the whole set this time around.

I would ask your MIL to send you pics of what she bought. It would have been nice if she would have asked your opinion, huh?

lol oh man i hope its not ugly!!!! we dont have very similar tastes AT ALL. dont get me wrong, i am incredibly grateful for her generousity lol. its sweet of her to think of us, but i wish she could think back when she had her kids, and remember how much she enjoyed buying the stuff and picking it out. oh! we had beach pictures done cuz dh and i didnt have a real wedding. so we gave her the pics and she had 1 of us put onto a pillow, "so i could hug it while he was in bootcamp" dont get me wrong- VERY sweet idea! but i dont think i really want a pillow of me and dh sitting on the bed, or the living room couch, or ANYWHERE for that matter! lol ohhh boy
