This morning I woke up next to dh for the first time in months!!!! It was like a new love affair. I then realised that it has been ages since we actually had a full night together. Whilst being pregnant I was so uncomfortable and big I needed lots of space so it was the couch and spare room for me. then when the babies were born he moved out because he needed his sleep. He has to travel by car alot during the day and the last thing i needed was a dh falling asleep behind the steering wheel. The when they moved out into their own room, I ended up getting up and falling asleep in their room in the rocking chair. Or lately we with the teething and Victoria being ill we ended up in seperate bedrooms each with a baby that woke up during the night. So this morning was special.

Is anyone else there playing musical beds with your dh and twins.

I slept in the guest room for the first 4 months. DH finally convinced me the boys would be fine if I wasn't sleeping in the room next door to them. And of course they were, but I still hate being across the house from them.

:) This made me laugh! I spend at least 3 hours a night in our guest bed, although it seems to be getting better. My DH flies an airplane so I feel the same way about making sure he gets his sleep. When the boys are fussy after their night feeding or I don't want one to wake the other, I'll sleep with them in the other room. This weekend my parents were visiting and I spent an hour on the nursery floor!

i did the same thing. when the babies were born hubby needs to sleep also he works in a jail and needs his head on right. well he slept out on the couch and the babies were with me. my DS got in his crib at 4 months my DD just got in her crib 1 month ago. i put al twin bed in her room so i can sleep in there and hear them. hubby is now back in our bed for past month they r 8 1/2 months now. i sleep in the twin bed and sometimes crawl into bed with hubby since i miss sleeping with him. last night i was in there all night for the first time and wow ya know i was able to hear the babies when they woke up. even with a baby monitor i would still sleep in the other room so i know how u feel. it's ok i think we all go through separation anxiety lolwe carried them in us for 9 months so i say it's normal.

Ha. We still only wake up next to each other occasionally. But now it has nothing to do with the babies. At first, we took turns sleeping in the spare room, while the other one was on "baby duty". Once they started sleeping through, we moved back in together. But, since it's winter, and our house has forced hot air, my husband is SNORING UP A STORM!!! ugh ... and it's never bothered me before, but maybe now since I have "mommy ears" and I wake up a lot easier, he wakes me up all the time. So I angrily grab my pillow and shuffle down to the spare room to sleep. hehe. so now it's his nose and not the babies that are keeping us apart!!

Oh we DID!!! The babies starting sleeping WEIRD (long story) around 4 mos and didn't STTN til 6mo & 1 d (who's counting?) and that whole time, we shuffled between our room, the guest bedroom, and the futon in the office. It was AWFUL!

Totally - we finally started sleeping together again when the twins were about 6 mos. old. We had been taking "shifts" in the guest bedroom next to the nursery until then. Now that we are back to sleeping together it is wonderful but also difficult. I forgot how much he snored and it seems I sleep lighter now that I am a mom and I can no longer sleep through the snoring. Our bedroom is downstairs and the babies' are upstairs and I HATE using the monitors as we hear every single noise. For this reason we generally go to bed together and DH is to get up first (if anyone gets up which no one has in a while ... cross fingers). I have finally started to sleep with earplugs and will go to sleep with them in at about 10:30 with DH and then I usually wake up around 4:30am and take the earplugs out, turn off the monitors, and go upstairs and get in bed in the guest room. I just leave the door cracked and go back to sleep (like a baby might I add with no earplugs or noisy sleeping partners) until they wake me up at 6:45!

I am almost afraid of going on vaca with DH and having no other bed to run to!
