So I have been thinking of tying beans this week but not sure what kind kids like. Any advice on what kind other than green? Thanks.

Mine love black beans and especially love kidney beans. The black ones can be messy but my kids didn't mind!

Mine loved canned beans. Garbanzo, small white, red kidney, black, lima, pinto, etc etc. I tried to get the no salt added but if they did have salt added I would rinse them well.

Heinz vegetarian baked beans have always been the favorite here.

    Us too!

We eat all kinds of beans. I add them into everything I can - soups, salads, dips - tonight we had nachos for supper with black beans on them. I never do meat on them anymore - much prefer beans & so do the kids.

The are so good for you :good:

Mine like chick peas (garbonzo beans?) and baked beans.
ETA: Oh, and they will also eat canned yellow beans.

My kids love beans. I like to add them to appropriate dishes too. But they will eat them straight out of a can (rinsed) too. Red beans are a favorite--they have a bland taste.

Mine LOVE cannelini beans--I saute the canned ones with a little carrot/onion/herbs and they wolf 'em down. They've enjoyed pintos, too.

All kinds of beans. We do black, garbanzo, lentils and refried pinto beans. Good, cheap protein.

Try them all. Buy the canned, no salt added (if available) varieties. Give them a good rinse to get all the messy juice off (and any added sodium) and let them go for it!!!

My kids' favorite food to this day still: Black Beans! They used to eat them rinsed and cold, but now they like them warm, cooked in the juice, with added seasonings/salsa! Spicy!

Mine LOVE beans in Maple Syrup...and so do I. Sometimes I rinse them for them, sometimes, they just eat it right out of the can. That is a big favorite for the kids...in fact, my dd was asking for beans today....

Canned Kidney beans are the favorite here. I rinse them, microwave for about 10 seconds, and add a wee bit of cumin. They LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE them.

My girls love Soybeans. They have them in the freezer section of the organic/health products. Just boil and add some salt to the water while boiling. The girls have fun squeezing them out of the pods. I think that they enjoy that as much as eating them.
