We are doing the boys room into a transportation theme for their birthday gift. We are getting the set from Target, which has other pieces to go along with it. One of them being a car bean bag. DH doesn't really want to get them. I do. He says they won't use them. I hope they do. They are still in cribs, but part of us giving them new beds is to convert their cribs into toddler/twin beds. So they will have free reign of their bedroom. I am hoping they will wake up and use the bean bag chairs to sit and read in in the morning(hey-one can dream, right?). Do you have bean bag chairs or other type chairs? Are they used?
We had little beanbags. They were never used. The kids much preferred a small couch and small saucer chairs that we had. My nephew does use his beanbag. But until recently, he never had other options. He just got handed down Timothy's small couch so I don't know if that's changed what he does. Marissa

MY kids like the chairs, we have one from pottery barn. They are a little pricey $100, but they are well made and ours still look brand new and it's 3 years old. My SIL bought a cheaper version and ended up replacing it with the pottery barn. My niece/nephews had some Landsend bean bags, and they were huge and they eventually tossed them out! I would lean towards a chair style!
We have little upholstered chairs (similar to the PBK Anywhere chair, but with a wood frame). The kids are very attached to them, but don't actually sit in them all that much. If they want to sit somewhere and "read," they do it on their beds or the couch. I sort of wish we hadn't bought the chairs, because they take up a lot of space in the bedroom and now I can't get rid of them, because the kids are so attached to them.
I remember having a bean bag as a kid and I love it. I have thought about getting my girls some, but we're short on room so we probably won't. Everytime my girls see one, they want it.
We got beanbags for their 2nd birthday and only recently have they started to use them. We keep them in their bedrooms though and they haven't been in their rooms playing too much up to this point. If we had them in a more accessible area before this, I think they would have used them a lot.
We have the PBK chairs and my kids love them. They refuse to sit anyplace else. I would never buy beanbags simply because I remember that as a kid my brother and I opened ours up and decided to play "snow storm" with the contents. We were still finding beanbag "beans" around the house when I was in high school! Good luck!

I have a childhood memory of beanbag stuffing going everywhere. We actually burst a seam by jumping on the beanbag from various heights. Perhaps your husband has a similar memory. My kids love beanbags but I've avoided getting any because I can see history repeating with them.
We have 2 beanbag chairs and keep them in the TV room. The kids will take them out to watch TV or play a game. I am happy to have the extra floor seating options.
