i can't take these ridiculous 20 minute naps in the bouncies every single day. they get so cranky by the end of the day (especially ivana). so we finished up our bottles and they're both whining away and i finally put them in their cribs. they played around and whined for a half hour, marina cried for a little bit then gave up and fell asleep, but ivana (my little pistol) SCREAMED her head off till she finally just passed out. i cried towards hte end, and i'm so glad it ended when it did, cuz i was close to giving up. but they're peacefully sleeping, and hopefully after a few days, they'll be able to put themselves to sleep during the day!

    thanks for reading!

:hug99: Momma! :hug99: I know it's hard to hear them crying, but from my experience, after a few days they went to bed/nap without crying one bit. I'm happy they are sleeping... and I'm hoping it continues {minus the crying} :)

UPDATE: they slept 20 minutes <_<

lol oh well. at least they will get used to napping in their cribs instead of the bouncies (which they're going to get too big for oneof these days)

CIO is tough! It gets easier though especially when you think of the end result. :hug99:

Maybe try letting them fuss for a few when they wake up after 20mins. Thats what I do with my girls when they wake up at 30mins and they *usually* go back to sleep for about an HOUR or sometimes MORE! :)

I hope they transition to the crib easily!! Good luck!

Way to go! Good job for sticking it out. Hope they catch on real soon (Kamryn's screaming her head off, again...)

That's great that you held out until they quieted down! Your girls sound like mine ... I have one that's a little pistol as well and I have to fight her for naps every day. Last week I let her CIO in her crib for 40 min for her morning nap and 40 minutes for her afternoon nap (BTW, I gave in both times and couldn't take the crying anymore after that point). Since then, I'm just letting her fall asleep in the swing because I'm fearful of a repeat episode. I'm much stronger with CIO when my DH is around.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Definitely a great start! I know how hard CIO can be (especially on you) but I always try to tell myself that crying doesn't mean they're unhappy (they're not thrilled) but crying is another form of expression- and as long as their needs are met- they're not hungry or wet and it's naptime then crying means they're tired. Good luck and stick to it. It only sends a confusing message to them if you give in... though I know how hard that is, too... :) I don't know why they don't just realize "oh wait, I'm tired, good night" and go to sleep... life would be oh so much easier!
