We have a cover for the spout so the boys don't get hurt if they bonk their heads on it, but what about a cover for the ceramic soap dish that is mounted on the wall right at head-height?

We haven't had any incidents yet, but I can see it happening. They're pretty good in the bath, but they do move around, and every time they move it seems their heads are just inches from bonking this big thing sticking out of the wall.

What can I use to cover the soap dish?

Not too pretty but can you duct tape a washcloth around it?

I was thinking along the same lines ....maybe one of those big sponges and see if you can get it to stick somehow.

I think you guys might be right that taping a cloth or sponge might be my only option. I've looked at all the baby proofing stuff, all the safety websites, etc. and there is nothing designed for this. I can't believe I'm the only one who has this issue. Why haven't they come up with some cute cover like they have a million of for the spout?!

try to get a bath toy that will hang right over it. a nice foam mat that thhey can play with or something. then you can take it down after the bath without going through so much tape.

We used kitchen towels at bathtime to cover the ceramic soap holder--that helped a lot. My kids had a shark covering the faucet and loved it.

We have never covered it. I showed them how to use the handle....and I don't they they have ever bumped their head.

I had the same thought, but they don't seem to make anything for this purpose and suprisingly it has never been an issue so far (and I am one of those moms who let them stand in the tub). They have kinda bonked on it but nothing that was an "ouchie".

Call CPS but I don't have covers on anything. The bottom is even a little slippery! We've had no bathtub catastrophies and I bathe all three little ones at the same time. I hope you're able to find something but I don't think they'll get really hurt if they bang on it once or twice.

:D Glad I could make you spit that nasty stuff out! Now if it was REAL Dr. Pepper, I'd be in mourning for you.

We covered the handles, but that was mostly to keep them from turning the water on/off. I tried covering the spout, but the water didn't run through it very smoothly so I took it off. They have bonked their heads on it once or twice, but not any worse than they bonk them on everything else. I wouldn't worry about the ceramic soap dish -- at least it doesn't have sharp edges.
