How do you keep the water in the bathtub and not all over the floor? Or do you? I am beginning to want to take all of the toys out of the tub, but then they just use their hands to scoop it out. Ugh!

What are some toys that you have in your tubs for the kids?

    Thanks!

I don't fill the tub very full, and I place a folded towel on the floor all along the bathtub to sop up the splashes and drips etc. In other words, I don't keep the water in the tub, but I try to minimize it's effects!

I also don't put much water in the tub. Enough that their legs are covered if they are sitting flat but that's it. We don't have toys or have "playtime" in the bath anymore, there just isn't time. Until about a year ago we did and if they continued to splash water out of the tub on purpose, bathtime ended right then. They learned pretty quick to not dump over the side or to settle down if they were splashing too much. A few times of bathtime getting cut short gets the message across!

HAHHAHAHHAHHHAHA! A day when the bathroom and I'm not soaking wet after bath is a dream that I imagine is a long time away. The girls have some toys in the bath, but between pouring water over each other with their cups and pretending to swim in the bath, everything is soaked. We used to have glass doors on the tub and when my SIL visited with her 4 year old she said "Oh don't take those doors off they are perfect!" Well thats not safe for lil ones, so we took the doors off and its been a mess ever since. I use a towel to mop up the floor and just count that as cleaning the floor in there.. so one less thing on my to-do list.

Extra towels on the floor here too! My boys are seriously messy in the tub but they have so much fun, I hate to stop it! :)

Deliberate dumping of water with a toy (we have lots of cups and boats) the toy goes into time out. If it's them kicking/crazy splashing they come out of the tub and have a timeout next to the tub while sister continues to play. Accidental splashing, we just remind them to be careful. They also get a timeout for trying to scale the wall via the grab bar/soap dish

They usually get one warning and then the timeout happens. We haven't had to do that for a while now. Reminders are usually sufficient.

Mine play with cups in the tub!  I am another one that just puts down some extra towels. They LOVE playing in the water and it would be a shame for me to stop it since it is "just" water.

I put a towel down on the floor as well. Honestly, my two don't play with many toys in the bathtub anymore. They like playing with cups and "swimming" as they call it on their tummy, so they pretty much do that the whole time. :pardon:

They are always asking for 'bath, bath, bath' every day now. They go to our soaking tub. I knew they just want to swim and play in the water. So I have extra towel all around the tub too. They still have all of their ducky, basketball hoop, and some foam letters. I never put any cup for them to play because I know theyll be dumping them out of the tub. They do splash hard at times or throwing the water out with their hands. But I tell them water is only for tub not out of the tub area. It is a bit work for me because I have to wipe down the walls above the tiles where it has water dripping on our paint. Also we have a huge window with plantation shutter which also has to be dry off too.

We just went to our new YMCA on a tour. When they saw the pool they were in awe of the water and etc. We had a hard time getting them out of the area where you watch your kids in class. In fact we are going to test out the pool today and brought their newest swimsuit from Target.

But I like the idea of getting a small mop to dry off the floor.

Ditto above. Only enough water to play and put a thick cotton bath matt on the floor. I figure the floor gets cleaned so its multi tasking right? ;)
