I could use some advice on bathtime. My twins, Ava and Chloe (1 yr), totally hate taking baths. They are terrified. Nothing from the past has happened so I don't know where this fear is coming from. I've tried the kitchen sink, tub, pool. I try to make it as fun as possible but they want nothing to do with water. It's a battle combined with screaming hysterically. Does anyone have any advice? Will they get better eventually or will this be a constant battle? Thanks!

Have you tried the bath rings? Maybe they'd feel more secure if the could have some support in the tub? Otherwise, I don't know.

Have you tried bathing them separetly or together. Ours have gone thru stages when they want to play together and other times when they get individual attn (dh baths one, I play with other, then viceversa).

We used the bath bumper from onestepahead which helped them feel more secure. however it sprung a leak which is unfixable. and I don't feel like spending more $$$ to replace it.

Have you tried putting on a bathing suit and getting in with them? Maybe if you're in there with them they'll be less afraid. They might be afraid of the drain or getting water on their heads. One thing that I do with my girls is sing while they're in there (Splish Splash, I'm Gonna Wash that Man Right Outta My Hair etc). And, sometimes pretend that they are flowers. We have the detachable shower massage and to rinse them we pretend that they're flowers that need water to grow. They do along with it.

We've gone through a few stages of hating baths. Usually I just wash and get them out as quickly as possible. I try not to make a big deal of them being upset about bath time. I found that after a while they just gave up and went back to liking baths. This was just our strategy, it might not work for your kids.

I'm sorry but how old are your twins?? Have you tried bath toys? We found that they were too distracted by the toys to be afraid. We bought the foam letters and numbers (and we are going to buy the one that has trees and a house and things to make a whole picture scene) that stick to the walls around the tub. They love them. They play with them, bite on them and stick them to the wall and it gives us yet more opportunity to teach the names of letters and numbers.
