When did you stop using the baby tub or convert it to where they could sit up in the bath tub?? Also, when they did this did you bathe them together or still one at a time? I feel like they are getting too big to lay in their baby tub.
    Thanks!

My boys are 8.5 months old. They just started sitting up but I'm not comfortable having them sitting up on their own in the baths just yet. Evan is not steady enough and James is just too wild! So we usually do one of two things: we put the baby bath in the big tub and bath them in there (doesn't matter how much they splash) or my husband or I hop in the top and take a bath with the babies, one at a time.

I kept them in the baby tub for a long time, probably longer than most. I think until about 8 months. Once my girls were sitting up, I bought two of those foam bath mats that BRU sells (the ones you can use to put in the baby tubs) for them to sit on. It worked so well to keep them where they need to be in the tub and provided great cushioning.

We've just graduated out of the baby tub as well, but I found it hard to hang onto the slippery stinkers in the tub (one at a time though), so I got this inflateable duck tub made by Munchkin at Target and I like that...it's got more room and they can sit up in it and you can fill it up with water, too. If you squeeze the bill it quacks and they love that! :p I actually put it up the counter because it's more comfortable for me, and use it just like the baby tub pouring water all over them.

I switched from the baby tub to bathing one at a time in the big tub around 6 months because they were so long that they didn't look comfortable in there and they were constantly trying to sit up and roll out. I opted to get in the tub with them rather than using a ring/seat. For me, this was easier on my back. I babyproofed the bathroom and the waiting baby played on a towel by the tub. We did this until they were very steady in the tub both sitting and standing and then I stopped getting in but still bathed one at a time (maybe 10 months?). It was around 14 months when they were finally following instructions well enough to put them in the tub together without me feeling like they might get hurt because I don't have enough arms and they're so busy. They can now get into and out of the bathtub with confidence entirely on their own and they can turn on the water and close the drain so my only job is to indicate that it's bathtime and assist with the soaping/rinsing/drying (and they take over more of that every day). It's all so fast... enjoy the baby time.

Mine were probably close to 8 months by the time they outgrew the newborn tub and they were not quite steady for the big bath. They were just sitting up on their own but I wouldnt trust them. So I bought this One Step Ahead Transitional Tub (This is the first time I have tried to do a link so hopefully it will work.)

I still use it now although space is at a premium. But we just travelled and it was great to be able to take it with us.

We are at the same point as you ... My son is hanging out of the baby bath, but he doesn't sit up nearly well enough to go into the big tub ... we REALLY wanted to find a way to bathe them together to save time ... me and DH always do baths ... so we can each be in charge of one ...

we have this tub http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2403655 ... we still haven't tried it in the sit up position ... we are going to try it this week ... this is definitey an awkward age to bathe them!

We use this tub at 5 months and it still works great. We use it in the kitchen sink and it has a drain plug in the bottom so it empties very easily. It is really easy on my back as well. I really dont look forward to having to move to the real bath tub someday.

    Great tub

    We just switched this week.

It was easier when they were laying down, that's for sure, but they wanted to play so I let them sit up.

I plan on doing it one at a time for a while!

We've been using a tub with a sling that they lay on while we are bathing them, however DD started pushing the bottom of the tub with both feet and bonking her head on the top of the tub. So, we are going to put a towel there for a bit, until they can sit up well, or until we can get a bigger tub!

I never used a baby bath tub... we have always used the big tub with the teddy bear sponge in it... Easier by far for me... and the babies have liked it from day one...
