Is it just me, or is giving baths one of your most dreaded tasks? I don't know why, but I literally dread it...I feed the boys as neatly as possible just so I might be able to avoid giving them baths! Am I totally horrible? How often do your twins get baths? Some moms give them everyday! I don't know if I could do that! I mean, is twice a week too little? Should I be bathing them all the time? They eat solids, but they don't get it all over [if I can help it]... I guess I just feel bad that I don't bathe them everyday...what do you MOMs think?
I heard it's not good for them to get bathed TOO often. I mean, if they're dirty, then yeah. We bathe every other day. If we're real lazy, we'll even skip another day. On the off days we wash face and hands. And don't worry. You're not the only one that dreds bath time. I usually don't mind it too much, but there are days when I just 'don't wanna' ^_^

They eat solids, but they don't get it all over [if I can help it]... I guess I just feel bad that I don't bathe them everyday...what do you MOMs think? I personally wouldn't worry about it! My boys have usually had two baths/week. Do what works for you! And when they started crawling around, etc... I told myself every other day. Ya-that has YET to happen! It's virtually impossible some days to fit it in. Something seems to come up and we are out-n-about or SOMETHING!
Mine get twice a week unless they're especially dirty (went hiking, made mud pies, what have you). Of course we do hands several times a day and faces at least once, but really, how dirty do babies get if nothing's spilled on them? Mine are almost 6 and they still don't bathe overly often. I don't think my mom stuck us in the tub more than 3 times a week unless we were dirty, and we grew up fine. I have a much better immune system than DH, and I know his mom bathed him daily and cleaned the house like you wouldn't believe. He didn't have enough germs to interact with!
2 or 3 times a week here. My DH works nights, so I'm by myself M-F. Doing it every night...no way...way to stressful
We're at 2 baths per week, as well. The babies love it, I'm just not up for wrestling 2 slippery little ones in the tub.
I used to dread bathtime as well!!! HATED it!!! Now that we moved to the big tub (and they use the Munchkin Duck tub - one at a time - inside the big tub) it is WAY way way better. We are all happier I do baths every other night or if we are lazy/tired or have something going on then every 3rd night. No way would I do it every night~!!!!!!
lol i do it every 2days or so. i clean fingers, toes, necks every morning though. and if they have a dr. appt coming up i may stretch the bath to 3 or 4 days so theyre clean for the appt. lol they dont get dirty yet!
We actually bathe every night. Yep, call me crazy! My dh helps with every bath though. It has become part of their nightly routine and does not take long at all. This is their cue to go to bed soon and they are ready. It relaxes them. It's actually not so bad because I know they will soon be in bed and I can have some "me" time.
I never liked giving baths, though it wasn't so bad (for me) after 6 months or so, when they started to seem like they actually enjoyed it. Still, it is just one more thing to get through. We only gave baths twice a week until they were at least 2. Then they seemed to get dirtier , so we upped it to 3x a week. When they were really tiny, our ped actually told us not to bathe them more than twice a week. They have very sensitive skin, and the air here (in Colorado) is so dry that it's actually better for them to have fewer baths.
Twice a week here also, I don't mind it, it's the hauling water jugs through the house that gets old (we wash them in a tub on the table, I'm afraid doing it in the bathtub will kill my back). We wash their faces and hands after each meal.
I don't know about other people's lil boys, but mine are MESSY and DIRTY every single day... we have always just given them a bath every night as a part of their routine, but honestly i don't think they could go without it... sometimes i've even bathed them mid day because of a mess or diaper explosion :bad: ... you know the kind... and then had to give them another after dinner because they love to rub whatever they're eating all over themselves and each other... especially the hair... so it's pointless to even try to wipe them clean... way easier to just dunk them and scrub... DH does a good job helping with this, too, but before i went back to work he had 2 jobs and it was just me flying solo... it can be back breaking, but i always know that they will soon be fast asleep and i can catch up on my shows and just chill out
We do every other day. They hated it at first, but then I read a book that suggested slowing things down and maybe the babies would enjoy it more...it worked. Now they find them very relaxing and go to bed much easier. If we're really busy or too tired, we skip a night, but this is working for us right now. I don't think it makes you a bad mommy to do it less often...this is just what works for us!
Our kids usually get a bath every other night...now that it's getting to be cooler weather and we're inside all day, it will probably sometimes be every 2 nights or so.
I give baths twice a week. And it is stressful! I am leaned over the tub, with 2 nine month olds, who think it is fun to try and climb out of their bath seats. I barely have any water in the tub, so that when they do manage to get tumbled over, there face is still completely out of the water. The whole experience is stressful for me. There is no way I would do it more often, unless a huge mess happened.
We do baths every other night AND my husband helps me, but there are days I still dread them- by the end of the day I'm usually exhausted so the idea of giving two baths is definitly not appealing. My husband and I either tag team (then it only takes us 15 to 20 minutes for both of them)or take turns and give the other an entire night off. Sometimes if we just get too behind schedule or busy we skip it. Ya' do whatever works. As long as they're getting bathed a couple times a week and not stinky it's all good. =)
I do baths every other night, and I felt bad about it until reading this post... . If they get dirty on the off day to bathe in the tub, then we wipe down with wipes, or we will do a full bath if the child is really dirty. My oldest DS is usually the only one who really gets 'ditry' at preschool. Other than that, Im just worried about germs.

I have a 2 1/2 year old in addition to the twins, so I fully appriciate what you're going thru. For my twins, 3x per week. (more or less... ) Lilly (2 1/2) every day before preschool if there is time. Hubby has started to help a lot more, too. Lol, great question! I do a REAL bath for the boys 2-3 times a week. I still give them sponge baths on the off days & it seems to work fine. I was wondering the same thing & I'm glad someone asked the question!!

The twins get a full bath once a week. I will wash their hair and necks if we are going out somewhere. As for my other kiddos the two yr. old is every other day. The girls twice a week. And the teenager every morning and sometimes in the evening. We run out of hot water alot
