What are things you do to keep accidents from happening in the bathroom?

We have no locks on the cabinets, but we also have nothing under them. I don't keep any cleaning products at all in the bathroom(they in a cabinet that the girls can't reach). I keep everything back from the fronts of the cabinet and no meds in the medicne cabinet(they are in a kitchen cabinet above the counter). Also since mine are no potty training yet we always keep the door closed when I'm not in their.

Keep the door closed unless I'm in their w/ them, and I do lock the cabinet because we have meds in there.

Before they were potty trained I would keep the door closed and had one of those door locks on it (the kind that go over the handle where only adults should be able to open it). When they were potty training I just made sure they couldn't get to anything, the cabinet under the sink had a sfety lock on it and everything else I don't want them to touch is out of reach. Now with my son walking around it's back to keeping the door closed but with out the handle cover so the girls can get in when they want.

Now my girls never did try to play in the bathroom either. The worst they ever did was unroll the toilet paper. They left the toilet alone (so I never had to get the lock for that) and they never tried to climb into the bathtub or tried to climb the cabinets so I was also lucky where if I left the door open by accident (or when they were potty training) I could trust them in there. They knew what they were aloud to touch and what they couldn't.

We have pretty small bathrooms, but we've put toilet locks on the toilets in the bathrooms they can access and I don't keep cleaning products in the bathrooms. There are closets in the bathrooms, but they're not locked since everything is up on a shelf except paper products, diapers, etc. We do have the water temp turned down now that they know how to turn the water on/off in the sink & tub. I use a non-slip mat in the tub, a faucet cover and don't fill the tub very deep when they're in it.

Since they are not potty trained, we keep the door closed.

Before age three, we used gates to block off that part of the house. The only safety products we have in there are a bathmat so they don't slip, and we used to use bath seats for them.
