My DH is away until Wed. We usually both bath them together. I am going to have to give baths alone. I have never done this before. I am thinking I will put one in an exersaucer in front of the tv while I bath the other.
How do you do baths with out help?

I always bath my kids alone....the twins and my 3 year old all go in the tub together. I wash them and pull one out, dry and out a diaper one. Then I repeat with the others. I take them to their rooms to get dressed. Good Luck!

I always bathed them alone, or my husband bathed them alone... I used the kitchen sink with each of my kids, and with the twins it was easy because the sink is divided in two. I would bathe them, drain all the water, and take one out, wrap him in a towel and then do the same with the other. If it was too hectic, I would just do one at a time like you mentioned, while the other waited in the excersaucer.... It is totally doable, you will learn to juggle lots of things as time goes on...

I usually do my twins and the two year old together. I run the water til it's the right temp then turn it off while I go get towels and everything I need set up in the bathroom. Then I gate them to the hallway between their bedroom and the bathroom. All the other doors are shut. I strip them, plop them in, get everyone's hair wet, shampoo everyone, wash all the bodies, rinse everyone, then if they are playing nice I'll run some clean water in the tub and let them splash around a bit. Granted there's not much room with all three of them in there! Then I drain the water and while it's going down take them out and dry them off one at a time. Then we head to the bedroom for diapers and pjs. Lately at least one has taken to peeing on the floor before I can get all the diapers on so I think putting diaper on will be added to the drying off phase of the operation. It can be done. You'll figure out what works for you.

We always bathe them alone. Put one in a PnP with some toys or the exersaucer, they'll be fine [IMG] I keep them in the same room with me too.

Bath seats! I bathed both boys at the same time using bath seats, which made it easy to remove one without concern that the other would topple over.

I recently bathed mine alone for the first time and was amazed that it wasn't that much harder than doing it with DH. I put them in the tub together -- they're used to it now and I don't have to keep a hand on them all the time to keep them from whacking their heads on something.

So I just wash them both, rinse them off, and let them play a little. Then I pick one, inform her that it's time to get out, and dry, diaper, and dress her right on the bathroom floor (I lay out the towels and supplies in advance) while the other one is still in the tub. I'm still within arm's reach of the tub in case of emergencies. Then I let the dry one run free while I get the other one out.

I've only done it a few times, but it went surprisingly smoothly. The one who is running free is usually fairly happy and stays pretty close anyway, because she wants to be where we are. If I put her in the PNP or something in the other room, she would have a fit.

I was always alone at bathtime, I think at that age I used a little inflatable tub I found at Babies R Us for about 10 bucks. You put it in your regular tub, both boys fit in it, and they played and splashed together. Then I just dried them off one at a time in the bathroom and diapered them on the bathroom floor.

Just make sure you get everything you'll need in the bathroom before you start!

Explained my night perfectly except I put my four year old in with them. They will play and have fun...its crazy but if you have everything ready then its not so bad.

On a side note...my dh was doing that the other day and apparently he got Mitchell out of the tub and was drying him off and the power in the house went out. They were in the bathroom without any windows so it went pitch black and Kenna was still in the tub. Dh said he was terrified bc he couldn't find her at first (luckily she was screaming so he knew she was okay). But soo scary!!! Just realized that probably didn't help...but it did turn out okay!!!

When I have to bathe them alone, I do them each one at a time. Ainsley is not yet standing on her own, so I am too afraid of her falling. I get them both down to diapers, bring them in the bathroom, bathe, dry, and new diaper on one, then do the other. Then we go to their room to put pajamas on. The one who is not being bathed likes to watch the other get a bath. They think it's hysterical to see their sister in the tub.

    Hey!

I have resorted to this myself in the last two weeks now that DHs commuting schedule is all crappy. Anyway, the first time was hard. I carry both naked to the tub, that already has the warm water in it, and then leave then standing until I get them both in. Then, they both get wet and washed and can play. However, last week, Liana tried standing up while I was washing Jadyn's hair and she fell. Screamed and screamed. It was awful. But, she lived (and has a nice black eye to prove it). The good thing is that she is pretty hesitant to stand up if I"m not helping her now.

Then, after all clean, I start letting the water out and get one out and dry her, then the other. And, I carry them both back to their room, which is probably the hardest part of the entire experience. I need to buy a gate for our steps, which are right outside their bedroom. So, until then, I have to carry them instead of letting them wait or roam.

By the way, I tried doing one at a time a while back and when I did I left the other in their crib. That was a mistake because -- usually Jadyn -- fell doing something and just cried and cried and I couldn't get to her without leaving the other one in the tub or cutting the bath short (sometimes this happened within the first minute of being in the tub.).

You can do it! If I can, you can.

If you want to do them 1 at a time, just bring some toys and have 1 sit on a bath towel and play while you quickly bathe the one. I sometimes do this but it's alot easier to have them both in the water at the same time. Especially now that they are used to being in the tub.

When I have to bathe them alone I put them in together and then just take one out and diaper them before I get the other one out. This usually works.

I've never had help, so the only thing I can say is that you can do it! Just have everything you need right near the tub. Bathe one, take them out, dry, diaper & dress. Repeat! Have fun, it's not so bad, youjust THINK can't do it!

The only time I have help bathing my girls is when we are on vacation.

I usually run the bathwater, and have the girls brush their teeth. I make sure that the towels are handy. Then I help them into the tub (since they are usually trying to climb in at this point)

When I think we are close to being done, I let the water out. Some times Dani asks to come out before I drain the water.
Once the water is drained out of the tub, I take the girls out and dry them off. We then go into their room to get dressed.

I put them both in the big tub together, wash one by one and then let them splash & play a little bit. I then take one out and watch the other. Get one lotioned up & dressed & then go get the other one. It is nice to have help, but it is very doable alone.

I've always bathed them on my own. If DH is home in time to help, he helps by taking freshly washed babies and drying and dressing them.

At that age, I did bathe one at a time. I just babyproofed the bathroom, closed the bathroom door, and let one play on a towel with toys while the other was being bathed. Their favorite part was when the bath was over and I'd open the door so they could both scamper out naked, giggling and squealing while running around the loft area. There were surprisingly few "accidents". Of course, now they both get into the tub at once which is a little quicker but a lot more splashy. [IMG]
