    Hi-
I've been doing all baths in the kitchen sink - it's wide and deep. But it's too small. I've gone as long as I can - but i"m worried about them falling in the tub - can i switch them right into the tub? They are both sitting up well and crawling and are 9 months old today. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
    thanks,
    Aimee

Absolutely! I switched my girls from the baby bathtub to the big people tub at about 8 months. They were both sitting up with no help by then, but not crawling. It's a bit complicated to wrangle two naked wriggling bodies into the tub, keep them both upright, and then get them out and into towels, but you can do it.

My only advice is to invest in some non skid appliques for your tub before you start. I made the mistake of putting two massage oil covered girls into a completely slippery tub once and it was not pretty. They slid all over the place (and had a great time) but I was a wreck trying to catch them both at the same time as they'd tip over then slide, then tip again, etc. I also use one of those yellow ducks with the word HOT on the bottom to test to make sure the water is the right temperature before I bring the girls into the bathroom so I don't have to contantly test the water and fiddle with the hot and cold as I'm getting the girls ready to get in the tub.

    Enjoy!

We made the switch around 8 months when they started sitting up better. It can be done. Like pp, make sure you have a bath mat or something down to keep them from sliding all over the place.

I would note, since I did have to bath both boys alone, I did invest in a bath seat (my boys are on the smaller side) to keep one contained in the tub while I washed the other. We no longer use it and it's not a "must have"...just thought I'd throw that out there.

I make sure that I have the tub ready, towels ready, washclothes soaped up, etc. I do all this right as the boys finish dinner and are still their high chairs...that way you don't have to rush around doing stuff while they are in the tub...you can remain focused on them.

We didn't bath them in the sink, we used a baby tub and I kept them in there until 12months. I think if you put a non-slip mat down on the tub and put only a little water, you should be okay bathing them in the tub. Or you could buy a blow up ducky thing {sorry, I don't know the name of it} and try that. Good luck!!

Heck I started bathing mine in the tub when they were three months! DS outgrew the sink and DH put him in the tub and I simply like it better. I bought a sponge little mat to put them on and just lay them down in the tub on the mat with the water not too deep. Works great! Not too good on my back but hey my back is at their mercy!

I put mine in teh big tub at 5 mo or so. I did just buy a bath seat as my DD is already crawling and wants to crawl around the tub. It is really so much easier.

I just started doing this too (at 5 1/2 months). With the baby tubs, I always had to lift them out and flip them over for a second to clean their little butts. This was also an issue in the sink. This way is much better and they are much more comfortable. Once they can sit pretty well, I'm getting one of those duckie inflatable bath tubs from Babies R US
