    Hi!

I am going through my shower gifts and running around doing returns etc.. I am confused about bath time for the babies and what type of "bathing apparatus" I might need. I have the Tub to Seat Bath Complete from 1st years and am wondering if that is the appropriate thing to use. Can you use it for newborns? It seems so hard and plastic. Is it better to use a spongy thing? Any advice is helpful.

    Thanks,
    Amy

I'm not sure what tub you have but this is what I had. It comes with a hamick for newborns to lay in. I loved this tub and was very sad to let it go. The girls were in it until the were sitting on their own (about 5 month) and ready for the real tub. I would definetly get something like this or one of the foam things. I never used the foam thing so I don't know how that works. HTH

Our tub had a place for newborns to lie - but the whole thing was plastic - and it was for infants - toddlers. What I did was line it with a bath towel - so the boys has something soft to lie on, that wasn't slippery. It worked great for us.

We didn't really put our son in the tub much until he could sit up and play in the tub unassisted (but supervised obviously). We just took turns taking him in the shower with us. He loved that (still does) and it was tons easier for us. I imagine that with the twins we'll do a shower hand-off as well. If you're worried about them being slippery you can just bring a little hand towel or something in the shower with you to lay across their back or under their tummies for a little more traction.

We had the same tub as Trish_e linked, it worked perfectly for us.

we have this angled medal frame with like a mesh netting inside that the babies lay in like a hammock. It fits inside our kitchen sink so it make it super easy to clean up i just drain the sink and let the baby hammock dry overnight. I personaly find it much easier than filling the large plastic one and than draining out the water but thats jmo. Hope that helps [IMG]

I had a hard plastic one that I stuck a towel on, or they took turns in the shower with daddy, he would hold, I would wash! lol! Funny to think back on it now!!

I had this with my first DD. Yes, you can use it for newborns. I personally did not like it because she outgrew it in length before she could sit up. So, I ended up using the spongy thing.

we have another plastic tub for the boys. I put it on top of the dressing table due to the height. After having the boys, my back has been in so much pain so for me, the spongy thing wouldn't work due to my back pain.

I love this tube! My friend has it and it is just so comfortable her baby would fall asleep in it. It has a hammock for newborns and it can convert to an upright or sitting tub for toddlers! I think it is a wonderful product!!
