DD now insists on laying down on her tummy in the bathtub  She loves to kick her little legs and splash the water with her hands. Often she gets her face pretty wet and sometimes will even purposefully put her face in the water...at first she would sputter a bit and look a little panicked. But now, it seems that the water in her face doesn't phase her a bit. I tried for a few nights to flip her over and make her sit upright. That just lead to her pulling up on the tub edge and trying to climb out Of course, I am always there right by the tub at bath-time...but is there any reason I shouldn't let her spend her bath playing on her tummy?!

That's super cute If she's happy I don't see any reason to worry about it!

My boys are in ISR swim lessons, and they don't want them doing stuff like that because it teaches them to try and arch their necks to keep their heads out of the water (rather than rolling over, which is what the program requires) but as long as she's not going to be in a swim program like that right away, I think it sounds great. She's a fearless little explorer!!
Thats adorable! My girls actually like it when I pour water on their heads and it runs down their faces. ardon: Goofballs!
I would consider yourself lucky that you don't have a kid that hates getting their face wet. It will make swimming and bath time a lot easier in the long run! And I'm a mean mommy that throws water over their faces for them to get used to it. (see my swimming thread and you'll see mine aren't afraid of the water either).
I agree, if she's happy and you're there anyway so nothing will happen to her, let her go for it! That is so cute!
Thanks for the support and comments, everyone! We keep wanting to take her swimming because she seems to ADORE the water. Her brother, on the other hand, doesn't like a drop of water even near his face (he's a little like his daddy )
