Bryce is so big and so fast now that I'm starting to get worried when giving him a bath because he jolts up out of the seat of his baby bathtub (like tub) and lurches forward to try and reach the bath spout. I have his little tub in the middle of the bathtub, but he still thinks he can just lurch forward and reach the spout. He's so strong and of course I'm right there at all times, but still, I'm afraid he's going to slip out of my hands and hit his head on the edge of his little tub.

At what age did you take yours out of the little tub and let them bathe in the big tub? I'm leary of those seats with a suction cup, but I guess since I'm always right there, it shouldn't be an issue. Or, I could get him one of the blow up ones like this.

    Suggestions?

At 4 months we started bathing them in the big tub. It is fine - we just lay them down in the tub with a few inches of water, and we are right there to make sure they don't roll over. We started them out on one of those cheap $4 bath sponges from Target and when they wore out we tossed them and just put them right in.

    Hi Carina!

I personally don't care for the suction cup seats either! We went straight from a baby tub in the sink, to sitting in the regular bathtub. They do fine this way. I plan on getting one of those rubber mats that you put in the bottom of the tub one of these days! [IMG]

Thanks for the quick responses! [IMG] I think we'll give the big tub a shot on its own this weekend.

We just started using the inflatable type tub and so far it's working well. We have one from Babies R Us and it fits the width of our tub. It fits really snug. We have it situated far from the faucet and have a big bucket of water nearby for extra water if we need it.

we went from the kitchen sink, to the inflatable tub. Now that they are a little older and LOVE splashing so much...they are in the tub seats. they do not suction, but are attached to the side of the tub. I LOVE THEM! The boys face each other every night and have play time in the tub together. I love it! They have a ball. These seats are great and safe as long as you dont just leave them in them and walk away and you wont be doing that anyway! [IMG] They are made by Safety 1st.

Mine are 7 mos and I'm bathing in the big tub - they love it. I went to linens and things and bought bath mats (soft) with suction cups and have them on the floor and sides of the tub and it helps if they were to fall, although they haven't yet. I also give hem toys to they are focused on those instead of the faucet.
