    Hi everyone,
First, thanks for the great advice to my previous questions - i really appreciate it.

I have a question about first bringing the babies home - did they sleep in your room w/ you? I plan on breast feeding and would like them in my room - but don't know what kind of contraption to put them in. I don't have a ton of room - can I get away w/ one bassinett? Or do I need 2? Or do people put them in their room right away?

Any suggestions are much appreciated! Thanks!

We are planning to use one cradle in our room at first. I think they'll both fit, and if they don't, we're going to set up a pack 'n play in our room for a while. We only kept our first son in our room for about 4 weeks. We'll probably do the same with these babies. I will say it does make things MUCH easier when you are breastfeeding, especially if your nursery is located away from your bedroom.

Check out an Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper. We have looked into these a little bit. They actually kind of become an extension of your bed, but are still separate "enough." The original ones can hold up to 30 pounds for sleeping and then 50 lbs. as a play pen.

We bought an original arm's reach cosleeper. The mini ones are too small for two babies. One of my docs is a mom of twins and told us what a godsend it was for her. We've got it all set up and ready for the babies when they come home in two weeks. [IMG]

I was also going to suggest the Arms Reach Cosleeper. We have this and it's been GREAT!

We put them in our Pack n Play. It had a fully bassinett and worked until the girls reached a combined 15 lbs. After that, I moved Sierra to a traditional bassinett we had received as a hand-me-down and I left Ainsley in the PNP bassinett. They both did fit in the traditional bassinett together for a few weeks but I wouldn't have left them in there overnight because they were so close together I was afraid one would smother the other.

we are using the pack n play with the double bassinet on top, in our room. However, the babies don't love it and half the time end up in their car seats in the living room (we have a small apartment - so they don't have their own room yet).

I think a co-sleeper would be great, but we don't have room and I just assumed it wouldn't work well for twins.

Ours slept in the arms reach original size co-sleeper for about 5 months then we moved them to cribs in their own room when ds decided he liked to kick dd in the head. [IMG]

It is a life saver! Worth every sent. Try your local craig's list, twin club resale or ebay.

I'm definitely getting the Original Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper. It seems great for twins, and I think it does convert into a play yard also.

We have a tiny master bedroom, and so we opted to have 2 bassinets, one for each side of the bed. My babies were small and premature, and they STILL took up a whole bassinet when they shared it.

I LOVED this set up and recommend it to all twin moms to be. We had room for one pack n play at the side of the bed or the foot of the bed. At the foot of the bed, it would have been hard to help soothe them or give them back their binky. And if the pack n play had been on one side of the bed, it would have been my side and so I would have not had ANY sleep.

By having a bassinet on each side of the bed, DH and I each took turns caring for a baby. Whichever baby was on our side, was our baby for the night. We fed it, changed it, soothed it when it was fussy. It was a great system and really helped my DH to share in the parenting, which I desparately needed him to do.

Since we used the bassinets for a short time, I am glad that we did not buy them, we borrowed them. But you can find them lightly used on craigslist very easily.

As of now we're planning on using the Original Arms Reach Cosleeper. I wanted to use a cute bassinet but the weight limit is 15 lbs so we'd have to get two if we plan on using them for more than a couple of months.

    Just another perspective:
We had the babies in cribs in their own room right across the hall from ours from day one. I don't mind crossing the hall and feeding them and dh doesn't have to wake up along with me.
It's not just feeding you will be doing in the night but also changing diapers (when you will need to turn on the light) and rocking or walking the babies to sleep.
Since the girls are in a separate room if I know they have been recently fed dh can handle the other complaints and I can at least stay in bed if not sleep. Also, it is easier to do anything else in the bedroom without disturbing them during their naps or during the night.

I borrowed a fairly large bassinett from my sis in law. I think we plan to use that. But you could always set up one crib in your room and one crib in your bed room as it seems like most twins want to share a crib till they are 4-6 months... I wanted to cosleeper too, but I figure the bassinett or second crib will work fine. a word of advice I've had from other moms is, decide on where you want the cribs before you assemble them, and assemble them in the appropriate room, as apparently cribs don't fit thru doorways...so you;lkl have to disassemble to move them! good luck!

My mother-in-law bought the pack 'n play w/the double bassinet on top for us. My mom's brother had twin boys about 11 years ago, and they sent a crib to us also. They told us for about the first 2 months or so, the babies can sleep in the same crib or until they start rolling around. Not sure what we'll use first, but glad we have a couple options to see what may work best.

We had them in our room. We used a pack-n-play for the first few weeks, but they quickly outgrew the 15lb weight limit on the bassinet. So then we moved a crib in there. In hindsight I would have put a crib in there to begin with.

I'm using 2 bassinets. We might have them in our room initially but most likely they will be in their own room so my DH doesn't get woken up since he has to work. We also have a twin bed, glider and TV in the twins room which was so helpful with my first pg.

I haven't had our twins yet, but I never had my DD sleep in our room. I didn't want my DD waking my DH up during the night since he had to go to work. I also found that I can not sleep with her in the same room even to this day. I even took the baby monitor out of our room because every sound would wake me up. I found that I was so "in tune" with every noise that she made, I didn't need the monitor also.
