Barking babies

Well, we've heard lots of dadadadada's and mamamamama's from the boys, as well as other syllables. We're not counting those as real words yet, because they seem sort of random, not like I come into the room and they say "Mama". But the one thing they do consistently is bark at the dog. If she's outside barking at other dogs, squirrels, leaves, specks of dust, etc. they will start making this "Ugh" sounds like they're barking with her!

While I'm really happy that they've found a way to communicate with another being, I'd really love it if they'd say "Mama"!

Anybody else have babies that talked to their animals first?

 

:wavey: Mine did say mama and dada first, but once they could meow and bark, that is what they said most often. They still do it when they see one of our cats or a neighbors dog. It's too funny.

 

:laughing: That's so cute that they are barking at the dog! Don't worry, mama can't be far behind! Before you know it they will be talking your ears off!

Heh, it is pretty funny...I'll have to capture it on video to embarrass them when they get older. :lol:

 

we're in the same boat! lots of mamamamas and dadadadas but not at us, specifically. but if the cat or dog comes into the room they raise a hand to wave and they go "EH?!" in a very specific tone that's used only for the pets. we the parents don't get a wave and a special sound, but the cat and dog do!
