This is a combo vent/request for suggestions. We are entering tantrums here.. and I don't mean "crying for a minute," I mean throwing yourself down on the floor screaming and crying. And now one of my girls has taken to running up to the wall and banging her head on it. Usually just once and then she looks at me to see if I saw and continues her crying and screaming. She does it on the coffee table too sometimes. This started about a week ago and I just say in a calm voice "Thats not cool" and then ignore her. Anything else I can do to get her over this phase fast? Its usually when she is tired and hungry like last night, so I served dinner early. I also warned the sitter about it. I'm going to try to get it on video to torture her when she gets older too

Trevor did this for awhile when he would get mad. It did not last long, but it was really hard to see him do that. Hopefully it's a short phase for you.

DS will stand in front of the wall facing out and do this. I just ignore it and then he stops.

Silas does this too, he must take after my mom because she did it too! Silas will do it when he wants to be babied, so he tries to hurt himself. I have been telling him that he should not do it if it hurts. My mom said that her aunt helped her bang her head one time and from then on she quit doing it! I don't think Silas is quite old enough for me to help him just yet!

 Uugh! The dreaded tantrums. I've never had a wall banger, but I'm on my second throw your whole body back hard and tantrum (never mind whatever is behind you that you land on hard). My older one learned pretty quickly to check first, but this guy still just drops. The only somewhat positive thing about that is sometimes his tantrum turns into tears of total pain and he forgets what he was mad about in the first place
