Does anybody have experience with this? It's starting to bug me. He used to do it when he was under a year on his umbrella stroller. Now while near a wall he will hit his head against it.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I have seen lots of totally typical kids bang their heads for seemingly no reason.

LOL! Yes, I just videoed JT the other night at supper banging the back of his head into the chair and laughing hysterically. Kids are weird I tell ya:)

My DS does this all the time. He does it in his high chair, in his crib, while playing. When he was still crawling he would crawl head first into a wall and laugh.

Oh yeah, both of mine do that, although it seems to have tapered off quite a bit in the last two months or so. They still love to bang and rub their heads together.

Buy him a drum! I swear I read an article that says if you give kids an outlet for their "banging" it helps them not bang their head other times. They bang/rock/sway because they like it and they are used to it from in utero.

My guys only stopped banging their heads on the back of their highchairs when we moved them to boosters. Now they bang their hands on the table (while saying "no banging on the table"). <_< If they accidentally bang their heads, and we make any sort of reaction to it, they will "reenact" it to get another response.

I like the drum idea!! We have a throwing problem and I redirect them to throwing Nerf balls, which are a lot less dangerous than wooden blocks. They like to have an outlet, so giving them something appropriate can often help. :)

Whew. I'm so glad I asked. I googled. :acute:

My friend has a drum and when they played last at her house O laid his head down on the drum while S was drumming. :headbang: . Oh, wait. That's the problem.
