At what age did you first let your kids try them? Mine have not had a bagel yet but we are going somewhere this weekend where bagels and lox (I am Jewish and live in NY lol) will be served so I thought I might let them try it. I am just nervous about them biting off too big of a piece and choking.

I cant remember what age exactly but i know now at age 2 they are addicted to bagels and spinach dip. They are def. mommys boys....

I would say it all depends on what other types of foods thay have eatten in the past. I would try giving them tiny little pieces and go from there.

    Have Fun!!!!!

I gave Liam bagels about a month or two ago. I just butter them and then break them up into smaller pieces for him.

I did at around that age with cream cheese in small bite-sized pieces. It was fine.

    I'd say around 12-13 months I think.

I still broke their food into little pieces until a few months ago, so I would give it to them but not a whole big chunk. They eat it like that now but they are 2.

I did bagels before they were 1, just broken into small peices. My children have always been good chewers, so I haven't had to worry.

I don't think I'd be very concerned about the bagels, but I'm not so sure I'd give them lox. i am interested to see if any one else has an opinion. Lots of cream cheese on the bagels and I'm sure they will be addicted...lol

My girls are total noshers! I gave them Lender's pretty early but really chewy bagels made me nervous for a long while. I think they were close to two before they really started eating them regularly. But surely you can give them little bits and some salmon and whitefish salad.

If I felt the source was trustworthy, yes.

You can either cut it up or just let them gnaw on the big piece. They will likely be just fine. They are a bread product, so they will not react badly if they aren't allergic or anything. LET EM' HAVE IT!!! :)
