Bad toys

So with a bunch of us quickly moving into the 1-4 forum, I thought it would be a good idea to list the toys we didnt like! Whether it be because it never worked right, or it had obnoxious music, or it went through batteries too quickly, whatever.

What toys do you regret getting and why??

 

The Giggle Ball never giggled. I think it's made by Infantino.

 

Honestly, I hate them all. Except for the Stupid Creatures.

However, my boys love their toys, so I endure.

Crazy Legs. First of all when it did work the song was SOOO annoying and bossy ("Lets sing mommy!" I don't want to sing!), and then after the girls broke it it still sang, but sounded demonic. Something in the speaker broke when they kept dropping it. You'd think a toy made for babies and toddlers would be a little more durable. All that said, the girls LOVED it and still want to play with it.

 

i bought the fisher price lawn mower.. its super cute but makes sooooo much noise... <_< uugghh.. my head hurts.. :wacko:

My nephew has that and its at my parents' house, which is where I now live!! I need to get rid of it before they can stand up! I HATE that lawnmower!

It's a little down the road for you probably but if your kids want a fishing pole toy do not get them the John Deere one. It had good reviews on Amazon so I bought TWO. It sings this horrible D-E-E-R-E song (to the tune of "Bingo") that makes me want to throw it against the wall. And besides that it doesn't even work well.

ETA: FWIW, I like the lawnmower toy but for us it's always been an outside toy.

 

Anything that makes alot of noise!!!!!!!!--I despise those popcorn poppers!!!

APRIL

 

I've just always banned anything that makes its own noise from the house. Kids make enough noise without electronics to help with it.

 

i gotta say, i don't mind the light-up, noisy toys ardon: i just tune them out! i actually told a few people (who asked me what they should get them for their birthday) to get them toy musical instruments... drums, xylophones, kazoos, etc... but dh and i love music and i want them to be able to express themselves freely musically ardon: i'll prolly bang the drums right along with them (or be a TOTAL dork and bust out my clarinet... )

 

I tune out the loud toys too but I stepped in it at my friends daughters birthday party Sunday. She was thanking someone for not getting her two year old anymore music toys (ie drums etc.) and before I thought I proudly proclaimed “oh I have totally dodged that bullet with so far….) she looked at me and gleefully proclaimed “really J.T. never got a set of drums well I know what I am getting the babies for their birthday!!!†ugh me and my big mouth LOL†^_^
The curious George bubble toy stinks. I hunted all over for it for my older DS finally found it and got it and it NEVER Worked grr.
On a happier note I just got my DD the fisher price stroller walker and SHE LOVES IT…and both of her brothers play with it too.

 

HMM, Fisher Price makes this monkey piano and they go through batteries on that thing like water. Other than that, I have liked all the toys they have gotten and we have bought.

I can't wait for their birthday because we are going to start getting into b/g themed toys and then we get to rotate some toys to the in-laws house. We only make it there once a week so it would be like new toys each time!
