I took the boys to their 9 month well baby visit yesterday. They ended up getting a shot. I thought they did not get one at 9 months, so I was unprepared. Jackson was hysterical after his shot but Lucas calmed down pretty quickly. I was focusing my attention on Jackson and the next thing I know I see Lucas crawling off the table. I was able to catch him and slow down the fall, but he still hit his head pretty good. Lucas just started crawling about a week ago. I just feel like a more experienced mom would have never let that happen. Luckily he was fine I was more upset then he was.

 Poor little guy and poor you too It must be so hard to take both of them for a shot at once by yourself I never had to do it alone. I hope they are both feeling better.

 You are not a bad mommy. Didn't a nurse stick around to help you after the shots? I've never taken both girls to the pedi by myself let alone for shots, so I'm very impressed you were brave enough to go it alone.

:bow2: to you for taking both babies to the pedi by yourself! I've never had the guts to do that. I hope his head feels better soon. Glad your appointment was good otherwise.

:grouphug: I'm sorry that happened! You are not a bad mommy. It's hard work to take two kids to the doctor by yourself. I am glad that they had a great appointment otherwise.

Don't be too hard on yourself. I think you did great taking them by yourself.

Even experienced mommy's mess up... My MIL (who has 4 of her own children and raised 3 of her grandchildren) was stayin with us helpin when the girls were first born. When they just started learning to roll over - she had left one of my girls on the couch, and off she rolled, straight to the floor, while my MIL was in the kitchen! Luckily it was carpet she rolled onto, and was not very damaged by the incident, but it just goes to show that even the experienced ones make mistakes every once and again...

Don't worry things happen. I'm glad he's good. I worry about that too.

Except for the first appointment, I've always gone alone. My guys are crawling now too, so last time I took a blanket and the stroller into the room. My doctor is pretty good about asking for an extra assistant/nurse in the room, but the extra person couldn't stay the whole time, so I put one in the stroller and strapped him. I also put one on the floor on the blanket.

You took them alone and weathered shots. That's quite an accomplishment! I'd say you sound like a very experienced mama. Seriously, you did great. These things happen .
