well ladies i have some bad news. i went for a routine appt for an u/s on monday at 3:30 and by 4:30 i was addmitted to the hospital. one of the bags is bulging and is right next to the cervix which is at 0.6 cm from 4cm three weeks ago and i'm 2cm dilated. needless to say i am devastated. my dr. has me in the turnabaum (not sure on the spelling) position to see if this helps, i can't have a cerclage because there is not enough space yet. her goal is o save the pregnancy then think about the next step. i had no cramping, bleeding or anything. our appt was originally for tomorrow, by the grace of god they rescheduled it for this monday, the dr told me had i waited a few more hours i would have lost the pregnancy. i had a repeat u/s yesterday and it's not any worse maybe slightly better, we have another one this am, i'll keep you posted. please keep us in your prayers. any advice ladies

I'm sorry to hear about your cervix. I have been on bedrest (modified to strict for most of my pregnancy) due to shorten cervix. I've not had an contrax or the like. I've heard many positive stories from moms who now have healthy twins who spent time in the hospital on bedrest.

Jamey, I am so sorry you are going through this. I hope that they are able to stop any further progression, and hopefully your situation will even begin to change for the better. Keep us updated...as much as you are able to. :hug99:

Sorry to hear about the bedrest and your scare. Hope that you improve so you can get a cerclage to keep those babies in. I had one at 22 weeks with my son, as I was dilated to 1cm and 100% effaced and I had one this pregnancy at 13 weeks to prevent the same thing from happening.

I had a bulging bag of water and a cervix length of 0.2cm at 16w4d. They put me in the trendelenberg position for a day, checked me in the morning, and there wasn't much change. But they did go forward with the cerclage and it held my babies in until 31 weeks. Actually, it would have held them in longer but baby A's bag of water broke and she had to be delivered.

    Hang in there.

update: my dr. performed another u/s last night and it all looks the same, she said that we need to look at the bright side and realize it hasn't gotten any worse, and it's a wait and see game now, she doesn't want to risk putting in the cerclage yet. thank you all for your prayers.....xoxo

Glad to hear you've remained stable. Are you seeing a high risk doctor (peri/MFM)? If not, I'd ask for a consult with one ASAP. There should be one at the hospital. They may be more willing to do the cerclage.

my ob is a peri/mfm dr, so that makes me reassured, she thinks that it is too risky to do the cerclage with so little cervix and the bag so close to the opening. She says we'll wait and see, so i'll have to wait a few more days. thank yu so much!

glad to hear that things are at least stable... ugh...just wish we could make your ticker move over automatically by about six weeks!! I guess at this point you have to just focus one day at a time... hopefully things will look well enough soon to put in that cerclage.

Hang in there, I know it seems like forever until they get here. Just remember, the longer you are off your feet, the bigger/healthier the munchkins will be.
