Back to twinstuff...

Hi ladies!

I hope you don't mind if I hop around this message board. I am on bed rest again at 28 weeks with my second pregnancy. This time I am pregnant with a singleton, but I went on bed rest last pregnancy with the twins at 29 weeks. I have searched the internet for a board that was a great as Twinstuff but for singleton pregnancies, but I just can't find one. I am hoping you guys will welcome me here, as I can relate now to being on bed rest with one and two
babies.

For a quickstory, I am on bed rest for preterm labor with a shortening cervix. With the twins I made it to 36 weeks, this time I'd like to make it to at least 38 weeks.

Good luck to all of you hanging out in bed and on the couch, who knew it could be so stressful doing nothing all day

 

Hi How do you do it with your older kids? Thats the real challenge for me!

 

Hi Ashley. Welcome back! I am in the hospital for the same reasons you have been put on bedrest. I have been in the hospital for 30 days now. At my last ultrasound on Monday my cervix was down to 0.3 and the funnelling was pretty bad too. Now we are hoping I make it to at least 34 weeks but of course 32 weeks is our next goal to meet.

I am currently driving to my mom's house each morning with the kids, about 10 minutes away and then I take up camp on her couch for the day while she keeps an eye on the kids and me. She watches my niece who's 1 1/2 as well so she can't come to my house. Once my DH gets home around 6:30 I head home and he takes care of the kids for the remainder of the evening. It is working for now, my fear is that my cervix will keep shortening and they'll put me on stricter bed rest that doesn't allow me to get up and drive to my mom's and back home... if that happens life will get really tricky. Let's hope this set up works for a while!

Stay positive, I am sure hospital bed rest is tough to swallow sometimes. I hope you hang in there as long as you can... did they give you steroid shots for the babies lungs?

 

Hi Ashley. Yes they gave me the steriod shots the day I was put on home bedrest (October 29). Luckily time is really going by fast.
