I gained 49 lbs during my pregnancy and since I gave birth to the girls at 35w4d on June 10, I've lost 51 lbs! I can't believe I weigh less than I did when I got pregnant!

20 lbs of that was gained during my last two weeks - a week before I was admitted for preeclampsia (I gained 12 lbs of fluid in one week) and then I gained 8 more while in the hospital.

I also had GD, so I am sure that played a part of me not gaining as much. I gained 60+ with my first pregnancy and that took more than a year to come off!

WHOO HOO!!! I am doing the happy dance right now!

Good for you. It's a great feeling, isn't it.

A piece of unsolicited advice: If you are nursing, do not use it as an excuse to eat whatever you want. I got back down to my prepregnancy weight quickly, but I'm back up 8 pounds again from eating junk all the time. I was so hungry all the time while pumping and junk was usually easy to grab in the middle of the night or whenever. I should have made sure there were healthier snacks around. You do need more calories if you are nursing, but they should be the right kind of calories. :)

I wish I could nurse! I had a breast reduction 10+ years ago and my milk supply is next to nothing. Itired with my first baby and that was a HORRIBLE experience. So, no dice this time. Luckily, I am trying to eat less like I did when I had GD, and I think that will help me keep losing weight - plus I got my thyroid checked right before I got PG and found out I have hypothyroidism, and getting that under control helps, too :)

Congrats! I lost all mine pretty quickly too, but then it was Thanksgiving and Christmas and I gained some more weight. I was going to say watch out for the chocolate. I really craved it after my boys were born and I never really liked it before! 51 lbs is a huge accomplishment! You should be really proud of yourself! :)
