hi, i forgot to add in my pp that i went to hsp sunday night as i was having severe back pain since that morning, hurt to laugh, bent, couldn't put undies on etc, even if a moved a fraction in the wrong way i was in copious amounts of agony.

The hsp checked my back and apparently i have just pulled a muscle and it was meant to clear in two days with rest.

Well today is the 4th day and it is still no better, :( i have ben resting with hotpacks on my back and panadol(MIL kindly taking children each day)

Yesterday...best day of rest ever...i exp pain down the right side of my right leg. They asked me about pain in my hip and leg when i went to hsp, but it was only back pain at that stage, but now i have the periodic leg/thigh pain.

This all just happens to coincide with baby b flipping to breech, <_< when all along both babies have been vertex.

Has anyone exp this, or kow what sciatica feels like,

Baby b is on the left side of me, where is the sciatic nerve? :unknw:

Don'y even know if this it it..it may well be the pulled back muscle they are talking about, but i am just not getting better...any help please?

It sounds like sciatica to me. :hug99: I had it and it is excruciating! When it flared up like that I would lay down and get some rest since you can't really do anything else.

walking is excellent for loosening up your ligaments and joints in your lower back and hips. If it is sciatic pain, you will notice relief when walking. But Pubic Diastasis Syndrom (I believe is how it's spelled) is when your ligaments are having a fine time with the pregnancy and it hurts in the crotch to stand up. Your hips are open in the front, connected by a ligaments to your pubic bone. When it's irritated, you will find it hard to walk or step down on your feet or one foot. After being on your feet for a few minutes, and walking normally you should be able to ignore the pain a bit more, but some people have it worse than others and so good stretching is very important. You may even want to look into a chiropractor who does ligaments in pregnant women. I started with lower back pain which would radiate towards the front. Walking seemed to help as I've had pain like this before when I'm being too lazy. But then I started to have pain shooting down both my legs, especially in my hips when I'm laying on my side (the side i'm laying on). One night I was flipping sides and actually heard something pop up front and since then I do have crotch pain. Thankfully it's gotten easier to deal with and I can ignore it most of the time, but I also do stretching that is recommended at spinningbabies.com for turning breech babies. I'm not sure if it's helped with that as one is still breech and they have never been head down yet, but I do notice less pain after I stretch (down my legs, hips and back anyways). Walking has relieved that pain a TON as well, 15 (depending on you) minutes at any pace you can handle. Also, there are many exercises that women on bedrest do that I'm sure will suffice in opening up that area ... I just don't know what it is yet and haven't looked into it because I'm not on bedrest.

Yup I've had sciatica in all of my pgs. It can come and go...so don't despair that you will have it for the rest of the pregnancy!! For me it's actually one of the first signs that I'm pg! LOL! I had it start 2 days before I took a pg test this time!!! I just knew I was pg when I started feeling that familiar pain!!

i get the sciatic pain in my left side as well, i cant move, get out of bed, walk, nothing i am motionless until i get it to go away. i usually push on the babies and try to get them to move because it feels like one of them is in my back. usually after a low heating pad and a good night sleep im ok then, my pani is worse when i walk alot through out the day, so it sounds to me like sciatic pain as well. i pulled a muscle in my lower abs in like wk 16 or 17 and was really scared hurt real bad, but it all had to do with the babied and my sciatic pain as well. hope u feel better soon!!! :hug99:

Yes, I have had this and continue to have it. It is painful and my legs sometimes go numb. I asked my OB about it and they suggested that I go to a chiropractor. I've been going to one over a month a now and it has lessened my sciatica pain, somedays it does come back but it has never been too bad since I have been seeing the chiropractor.

I've not gotten sciatica during pregnancy, but I did have it during training for two of the three marathons I've run in the last three years. Stretching the piriformis muscle (runs from your leg to your back under the gluteus maximus) can really help. If you google "piriformis stretches" you should get some good ones. You will need to modify some of them though, as many of them will be difficult to accomplish with a twin belly.

    HTH!
