    Hi,

We ordered ours from LL Bean, and we love them. They have held up for almost three years now and still look good. And I believe they have a lifetime warranty. You can put their names on them also.

my girls have the small ones from LLBean and they are in great condition going into their 2nd yr (JK SK). But they will be too small for anything more than their lunch and a few papers, so I ordered some from HannaAnderson...have not received them yet and hoping the quality will be awesome!

i ordered the boys rolling suitcases from lillian vernon & they were cute, but they fell apart after only 2 uses when they were only having them for 5 months. i am not going to buy anything else from there as a result. i ordered g&o's backpacks from pottery barn kids & had their names put on them. they were $50, but this is the 2nd year they have used them & they are still on excellent shape & can be used again next year although i may buy new ones just because the boys want the star wars ones pottery barn has now. i also ordered their soccer bags from there & they too have help up wonderfully.

We also got the LL Bean Junior Backpack and it's great. It easily holds their lunch (in the LL Bean Lunch box), their textbook, two folders, library book, and other items. Sierra is constantly dragging hers on the ground and it isn't getting holes in the bottom like Ainsley's cheap backpack is.

Those who order from LL Bean...Do they ever run good sales around the time school starts???

They have $10 off the other day..not sure how much you have to spend... I am wondering if I should order now or wait..
What do you think..I have never ordered or bought anything online from them before..
    thanks

You might just want to put their initials on the bags. I have always heard it isn't safe to have their names on their back packs because a stranger would be able to call the child by their first name, giving the child a false sense of safety.

I bought Joel the LL Bean one after buying him countless backpacks throughout the years. He is so hard on them. So far so good, it has held up GREAT. I bought Aaron and Connor cheap ones and next year I will buy them the LL Bean ones too. We do initials.

My sister has an LL Bean card, so she can get shipping and all personalization for free. She orders it for me.

Ditto. It's our school's policy not to have childrens' names on their backpacks for safety reasons. They attach each childs' information on the backpack but with the blank side out so staff knows which bus they are on, which class they are in and their name, but even that is placed on the pack blank side out.

I also got my boys' at PotteryBarn Kids. I lucked out though as I got them on sale marked down to $11.99 from $60.00. They were the ones with the handle and wheels. I bought them while they were still in pre-k(could not resist that bargain). They used them for kindergarten and still use them to play around the house and to pack to go to Grandma's house. I know people say PB Kids is expensive but their stuff is awesome quality- it is worth the money. The boys' beds and all their bedding and curtains are from there and they stay in great shape washing after washing. Spend the extra cash and you'll see that the stuff is quality.

I have to disagree on the Pottery Barn Kids backpacks. Jonathan went through 2 just this year--the strap kept getting caught under the wheels and broken. Marcus' is held together by pieces of elastic that I sewed connecting the straps. We will not be getting backpacks from them again.
