Back from 36w appt

Today's appointment was a little disappointing in one sense b/c I thought I might be leaking amniotic fluid this afternoon, so DH and I went ahead and stuck our hospital bags in the trunk just in case. The OB tested and it was negative ... apparently I have a yeast infection instead. Ah well; I know it's still a little early, but that was a little anticlimactic!

Anyhow, I told the OB today that as much as I want to go natural, I'd also really like to have an end in sight and really don't want to go past 38 weeks. (We hadn't set a deadline before but he said "sometime around 38 to 39 weeks.) So we went ahead and scheduled an induction for January 6th. I tested positive for GBS so he'd have me come in at 8 p.m. Jan 5th to start the antibiotics. He doesn't think I'll make it that far (I hope not, since my sister is flying in from Baltimore for the holidays and leaves the 4th! That would suck if she misses meeting them by 2 days!), but at least I have an end in sight. I go back New Year's Eve for my 37w appt.

He's on vacation next week but said he still wants us to call his cell if I go into labor because he really wants to be there to deliver my twins. That makes me happy.

The babies are still looking good on the u/s. B is still breech. I mentioned I haven't felt Baby A as much lately, and he was apparently sleeping, so the OB got a little buzzer (he said it's actually an artificial larynx!) to wake him up. It worked. I just thought that was funny.

 

:hug: I have to admit, I see lots of pluses and great things here in your post. I know it can be very difficult, but hang in there mama....you're in the home stretch.

Glad to hear you have an end in sight! I know how important it is - especially the last month! We got the buzzer once too. Hope they come before your sister leaves!

You know, I just reread my post and it does seem more negative than I feel ... partly cos the only two emoticons i used were the one. Oops! Didn't mean to come across that way. But actually yeah, I'm glad things are going well and it feels great to have a deadline! Just two more weeks at the most till we get to meet our boys! Woohoo!!

 

What a great appt and a great doc to want to be there for your delivery even though he's vacationing. That's awesome! You're almost there...I can't wait to hear about it and I hope they come before your sister leaves.

I´ve been also scheduled for my c-section, it will be Dec. 29th, just 5 more days.( I am having a lot of contractions and I shouldn´t wait any longer because I have a cerclage). I´m excited and nervous! I still dream they´ll turn from breech to vertex....

 

Yay yay hopefully with the holidays the time will pass fast and your little men will be here before you know it! :wub:
