Certainly not the worst, either, so I know I can't complain, but there were a few disappointments compared to earlier visits:
    • We were so excited to find out last week that Baby B had flipped to vertex. Well now he has apparently flipped back to breech. :( (Not the end of the world, I know, but I would definitely prefer a vaginal delivery with vertex-vertex babies if possible!)
    • I told him about the symptoms I've developed over the past week and now I'm on modified bedrest due to all the contractions (and simply not being able to walk much even if I wanted to; my uterus just cramps up too much and it's miserable) plus I'd noticed some possible signs of pre-eclampsia. He did say that I have stage 2 edema now (no swelling at all before this week) and that I have possible early warning signs of pre-eclampsia; for now I'm OK but it's something to keep an eye on.
No growth scan today but he did a quick u/s and said the boys seem fine.

I do really like my new OB though and am glad I switched. DH and I both had some questions for him, and he's really good at answering everything and not making you feel rushed. Very empathic, too. And up on the latest research, which is great. Oh, and he made me laugh: He mentioned at our consult that he's an identical twin himself. When we found out B was breech again, I said something joking like, "Baby B needs to get with the program!" and the doc said, "Hey, I was a Twin B. Twin B's are cool!"

He also said that now that I've made it to 34w he wouldn't do much to stop labor if it did start (which I've heard others of y'all say their docs also said). In a way that's exciting but also scary; I know a week in the womb can still make a big difference at this point so I'd love for them to stay in till at least 35w, if not 36-37. I don't know; at 34w can you still ask them to try to stop labor even if they're OK with delivering? Even though I'm getting really uncomfortable, I just hate to think of the babies having to leave the womb quite this soon and be in the NICU instead! (Unless, of course, they stop doing well in there.)

Sorry to hear about the baby turning, I'm having the same problem with my wandering baby b!
You're right about resting and trying to keep your precious little ones cooking longer.
My OB said the same thing about going into labor at 34 weeks. I'm not sure if they will try and stop it if I request it, but if the babies aren't in dire need of medical attention, then maybe they would grant my/your wishes.

That's great news on finding an OB that you are confident in, it sure helps.

Congratulations on being a "34 week graduate"!

    Hi Amy!

There is still time for Baby B to turn back around :)
Be sure to get lots of rest/fluids while you are on bedrest. It is so easy to try to do to much when on bedrest and especially at this time of the year (so busy!!) so treat yourself good & hopefully those little ones will stay in there for awhile longer!
How great that you like your new OB ~ that is so important!

I hate to even post this, because I don't remember the reason. But I was also told the thing about not stopping delivery at 34 weeks. But he gave me a reason why it was better to deliver than to leave them in. It made sense at the time, but I can't remember what it was. Pregnancy brain at the time, I guess! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

ETA: Ahh, I think I remember now. I believe it was something like the drugs they would give to stop the contractions have not been proven to be effective at that point, and may actually be unsafe at this stage or later? Don't quote, me on that though!

Ah, OK. Good to know, Denise. I guess if I do go into labor this week I'll just ask them what the pros and cons would be of trying to stop it. That would make sense though, if that's the case.

34 wks...YAY! Continue to get lots of rest and hopefully we'll hear about those babies in about 3 wks :) As for Baby B's position, I don't know if it works similarly with multiples but with both of my singletons they turned a few times until the very end. I delivered both vertex and vaginally. I hope the same for you!
