I am so excited to be back again! It took a little convincing for my husband to be on board, but now he is as excited as I am. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks, and there is just one in there. A little bittersweet! Twins are so fun, but this being number four - I think we will all keep our sanity a little easier without a number 5 along for the ride!!

During the ultrasound they did notice a small hemorrhage on the side of the placenta. Anyone ever had this? My dr said that it was caused by some sort of exertion and that it should reabsorb or I will bleed it out. But she assured me that it should cause no danger to the baby or affect my ability to carry full term. Im supposed to take it easy and am on "pelvic rest" - gee thanks.

Yay! Congrats. Our kids are all about the same age. It can be a little crazy but "this too shall pass". Wishing you all the best!

Congrats Lauren!! So glad you convinced DH, your babies are so darn beautiful! I think I have heard of a hemorrhage and it being non-serious, so I'm sure the advice your doc gave you was sound.

Congratulations! I had a hemmorage with my baby number 4. I bled substantially at 5 weeks, 7 weeks, and really badly at 11 weeks. It can be really scary, and quite honestly it does put you at an increased risk for m/c. But on the flip side according to my u/s tech at the time she'd seen babies survive where even up to half of the placenta was disconnected. The doctor absolutely gave you the best advice. In addition to 'pelvic rest' I would add that you should cut out almost any strenuous activity. No carrying laundry, no vacuuming floors... light dusting and cooking are fine. Until I cut all this stuff out my uterus just wouldn't heal and the bleeding would start back up again. Don't be freaked out if you pass old dried blood or even a clot, sometimes the blood dries up and comes out. My big clot didn't come out until after I had the baby, but every time I had a fresh bleed a good amount of bright red blood would come out. Take it easy, and probably by about 15-20 weeks you will be in the clear and the hemmorage will be gone. That's usually when the placenta is more secure. Think of this time a little bit like your post-partum time...where when you start being too active the uterus will start bleeding again. You need to rest it to give everything in there a chance to heal and stay healed.
