What do you do about the cords of floor lamps (you know, where the cord comes out of the base of the lamp)? I know there must be some clever way to make it inaccessible, but mommy brain is preventing me from figuring it out... And DS thinks they are the coolest toy in the world!

Great question! I've been thinking about this myself. I hope there's a great answer because I was just thinking I'd have to put my lamp away!

Not a great solution, but what we do now is put them behind the couch and then make sure they can't get back there will big floor pillows (got them at Pier1). So far they haven't figured out how to move the pillows, but I'm sure that is coming...

What is their fascination with electrical cords?!? Since we put up the Christmas tree Cameron has unplugged it so many times I can't even count. We try to block access by boxes, but since he knows it's there he will reach his little arm behind the boxes to unplug it!

Sorry I don't have any advice to offer. I was just commiserating. ;)

We haven't babyproofed yet (the girls aren't anywhere near crawling) but when we do I'm planning to buy cord organizers. They are hard plastic bendable tubes that you can insert your electrical cords into. I don't know where we'll buy them, but here's a link I found online so you can see what I mean:

In the same boat here too! I've found the cord thingys for multiple cords etc. ie. for the TV, DVD, cable box - to put them all togehter in a tube thingy etc., but for just ONE cord - coming out of the lamp (my girls favorite thing to play with too) I'm at a loss. I've put something blocking them from getting behind the chair etc. but now they try to crawl UNDER the end table to get at it. And of course, putting something to block that, they just push it, move it etc. - it's one thing in "their area" that I have to watch them on - and moving it means no light in the living room. Sorry no help, just comiserating too! :D

We just have a dark living room, because we haven't been able to figure anything out!! They unplug anything accessible and chew on the cord, so we just don't have anything plugged in anywhere they can access anymore. We used to have two lamps in our living room, but now we can only figure a way to plug one of them in without the boys getting at it, so our living room is just dark. Really hoping someone else has something that works!

We use these for multiple cords but we haven't yet had a problem with other cords so can't make a suggestion there but the bendy things are great for your entertainment stuff if they can access that or computer stuff. Bought them at Lowe's.

SERIOUSLY! It's amazing how they go for it like a moth to a flame! We have a big section of our living room/play area fenced off where they have no access to any cords. You have to climb over the gate to get to the couch and the place looks crazy, but that's what we expected before they got here!
    Good luck.
