Baby Universe

    Has anyone ordered something from Baby Universe? I ordered a tunnel for the girls 10 days ago and it still hasn't been shipped [​IMG]. This is the second time something like this has happened with this company. Back in Nov I ordered a Jumperoo for the girls and it never shipped, a couple weeks later I got a e-mail saying it was out of stock and they would ship as soon as they got one. I waited a couple week before Christmas and still no jumperoo so I canceled the order and bought it somewhere else. Well I just figured that it was because of Christmas, and they were getting a lot of orders. Now I'm not sure, I called there on Tuesday to check on the order and they said it was in stock and it would ship soon. So here it is Thursday and it still hasn't shipped. Has anyone else had problems with this company or do I just have bad luck?

    I think it may be bad luck... I have ordered numerous items from them including high chairs, diaper bags, car seats, etc. and they have all arrived within a few days.

    In fact, I was recently pleasantly surprised when I called them to try and get a receipt for a gate that had broken so I could send it back to the manufacturer and they gave me a credit right then and there and I didn't even have to send the gate back [​IMG]

    I'll never order from this company again. I just recieved a email saying that it's indeed out of stock and won't be available until April 23rd. They have the worst service ever! For this to happen twice within a few months is rediculous. I wish they would of let us know when we called instead of saying it's in and will be shipped. I could of had this already if I went through some other company.

    I'm sorry for the hassle you've experienced with them. I haven't ordered anything from them in about a year but I have ordered numerous LARGE items like strollers, car seats, etc. They were always awesome to deal with.

    I've had a bad experience with Baby Universe too. I ordered 2 car seats from them on 6/7/07. They advertised same day shipping if ordered before 2pm EST. Well it wasn't until the next day I received an email saying the items were out of stock and weren't expected to ship until 6/30/07. It annoyed me that it did not say anywhere during the ordering process that they were not in stock. I felt like the same day shipping advertisment was misleading. They have charged my credit card even though they haven't shipped them yet. I am so annoyed I wrote them a email to complain. I was researching car seats on car-seat.org and saw a couple of post with people complaining about the same thing. I also looked them up on the BBB's site and they have had numerous complaints regarding this. How could they do business like this? I will tell everyone I know not to shop with them.

    That is too bad! We orderd lots from them and never had an issue. It stinks that this has happened twice to you!

    Since this has resurrected I'll give you all a update. I'm still dealing with them to get my credit card credited back. I had to cancel that order and I reordered another tunnel that was in stock. Guess what!, it wasn't. I dealt with them for another month and never received anything. They have the worst costumer service. I'd advice anyone to purchase with caution. After all this I also checked up on them with the BBB, and there are many people that have issues with them. Baby Universe also owns Dreamtime baby, and that company has major problem also. Here are the links from the BBB

    Update:
    I received a response to my email that basically said sorry for the inconvenience but they are backordered until 6/30 and if you want to cancel let us know. They didn't even address that their web site is misleading. :angry: The email listed a customer service number to call if I had any further questions or concerns. When I called their customer service they guy looked up my order and told me it was shipped today. I was skeptical but he gave me the UPS tracking numbers and I confirmed on UPS's site that they were shipped today. Talk about being confused, first they say one thing then another. Buyer beware!

    I had a bad experience as well with backordering, not informing me, making it a bear to cancel. I will never order from them again.
