Hey Guys, it's been a long time since I've posted. Everything's changed!! Anyway, I have two questions. My girls will be four in about three months. They have both very definitely taken on their individual roles. Emma is a very "take charge" kind of gal and since Elyse has taken on the "baby" or more submissive role, she is more than happy to let Emma be the boss. I just wonder if it will always be this way... or if Elyse will ever decide she's tired of being the baby. Further, Elyse has a terrible habit of "baby talking." It's really starting to drive us crazy. <_< She uses sounds to get our attention. Like "EH!" We used to tell her to use her words... that we didn't understand "eh." Now we're starting to ignore her until she talks. And she does talk. She talks as well as her sister... they've both been talking since about 18 months. Is there any way to get her out of this baby talking mode? Should we just let her continue and chalk it up to a phase? Surely she'll grow out of it!!?? It's been going on, now, for months. And I'm not quite sure what triggered it in the first place. She didn't always do this. Any thoughts or suggestions? TIA!

I think I would just continue to ignore the baby talk. We have to tell the boys to ask "nice" when they want something insted of whining. You can let her know that baby talk is ok for "play" time, but not in everyday speaking.

I agree with the PP. Just stay consistant and tell her that you can't understand her and use her words. She'll get the message.

Id say just ignore it. My son has started to do this but its because he wants to be like his baby sisters (totally jealous of them). I just tell him I cant understand him and he will use his words
