Baby Sunglasses?

How does everyone here deal with keeping the sun out of your babies' eyes when in the car? Right now my boys are both rear-facing in convertible seats, and no matter what I do they get the sun shining in their eyes when we drive anywhere on a sunny day. We've tried two different types of sunscreens for the windows, but they only block the sun if it is coming from the side of the car at a very specific angle. I know they sell sunscreens for the back window of the car, but dh and I are worried that would affect our visibility too much while driving.

Both my boys absolutely hate it when the sun gets in their eyes - they start screaming. I've been thinking of investing in 2 pairs of Baby Banz sunglasses to help on our drives. Anyone have any experiences with these? Does the strap help to keep them on or do babies just pull them off?

    Thanks!

If you go with sunglasses, you might want to look & make sure they have spf. I forget exactly what it is, but my sister used to work for an eye doctor & she said unless you get a decent pair, sometimes sunglasses will actually harm your eyes. I believe it was b/c your pupils open more with the less light, allowing more of the sun's rays in....which is why you want the spf. I found a couple of cheapie glasses for my 2 for pictures & stuff, but they won't ever keep them on.

Do they wear hats well? Seems like if they don't mind wearing hats, they might do ok with the sunglasses.

They worked well with my boys when we're outside. Here's a pic of Jacob, and here's a pic of Tyler. They tried to pull them off at first, but when they realized that the sun was in their faces, they changed their minds! [IMG]

When they're in the car, we use the awnings that are on on their carseats.

My kids would never keep them on! Good luck in finding a solution! [IMG]

Thanks for the advice, everyone (and the extremely cute pictures [IMG] ). When the boys were still in their infant carseats we could use the attached awnings to block the sun, but there are no awnings on the convertible seats! Maybe I'll just buy one pair of sunglasses and try them on each boy to see if they work before I invest in 2 pairs.
