I know this question has been asked a million times but I can't find the answer. When is it best to have my baby shower by because I need to let my best friend and sister know(theyre the ones throwing it) because they are used to regular baby showers and having them at like 36 weeks

My baby shower is this weekend! I will be 27 weeks along. My mom wanted to do it 4 weeks from now, and I shot down that idea. Now I'm really glad I pushed for this weekend because as tired and uncomfortable as I am now, I don't want to think about how I'll feel in 4 weeks.

Mine is going to be when I'm 29 weeks. We thought it best to do it sooner rather then later. But like you my sister and friends were planning for 34-35 weeks.

I had mine at 33 weeks but I was soooo tired afterwards. I wish it was earlier.

Mine is going to be at 26 weeks, I had asked this questions before and everyone said it was a good time because hopefully it'll be before you get to tired and uncomfortable. My mom is booking a hall for it so she's already planning for the weekend of my 26th week. My best friend and her were a little confused when I told them 26 weeks because with my son they did it at 36 weeks=)

I had mine last Sunday, that was the day reached 35 weeks. I was a bit tired afterward, but I held up really well throughout the party, it was easier than I thought it would be. We decided to do it late because we wanted to get past the holidays. It's an individual choice, but 35 weeks is a little late since you don't really know where you will be, if my preterm labor wasn't stopped at 33 weeks my babies would have been here already. It worked out fine for me, thank goodness.

Congratulations and here's to a happy, healthy twin pregnancy and beyond!! :drinks:

I would have it before 30 weeks -- as early as 24 weeks. You want to be feeling reasonably OK and not just be sitting on the couch like a beached whale!

I had one at 29 weeks and I happened to land in the hospital (with threatened pre-term labor) that very day. We had my shower in the hospital. I was OK and was discharged the next day, but it was just easier to move the shower than to reschedule it!

Then my colleagues had one for me at about 32 weeks and I couldn't do anything but sit on the couch. Plus I felt silly having them all see me like that.

And finally, you need to be prepared early (especially if you think DH might not be totally stellar at unpacking gifts, setting up furniture, etc. all by himself), so you'll need to know pretty early what you get as gifts and what you need to buy.

My shower that my church is throwing is tomorrow. That's got to be the absolute latest that anyone has had a twin shower, but I think I am going to make it! I would NOT recommend waiting that long, though. I'm at the point where even the thought of doing anything wears me out. Around 30 weeks would have been ideal for me. I was big and pregnant, but still had the energy to enjoy visiting. If it's going to be a big shower, or you have to do anything other than show up, I would say even earlier.

    I had mine at 28, 29 and 30 weeks.
28 weeks was at work (during my last week) and it was fine, not a lot of people, short over the lunch hour and very low key.
29 weeks was my family and it worked really well for me. I mostly moved from chair to chair visiting with people, but I wasn't hugely uncomfortable.
30 weeks was with DH's family and it was outside and it was hot that day so I was VERY uncomfortable. I had started the day full of energy but the heat just drained everything.
I don't think I would wait much longer than that. I had plenty of time to get things set up before the boys arrived and was mobile and still had the energy to mostly enjoy my showers.

**BUT my disclaimer would be don't have an outdoor shower if there is the chance it would be hot because you WILL be uncomfortable!!

I'll be at the end of my 30th week for our baby shower. I never even thought about it being a big deal until I started to reading these threads! lol I've been feeling great, so hopefully that will continue & having it later--at 30+weeks will be just fine. :)

I had two at 24 weeks back home and have one this weekend at 30 weeks (almost 31). I am glad I had the early ones. I had a lot of sorting, returning and exchanging to do and it was overwhelming not knowing what I was going to need and not need. Although I have three showers I have got almost exclusively matching outfits so I am still trying to get a handle on critical items - I don't want to have to go buy a ton of stuff up front after three showers, but that is a possibility if I don't return some of the clothes. This is harder than I thought. In hindsight, having the showers earlier was a relief.

I just had my baby shower on Wednesday and I felt great. Other than getting really nauseated in the middle of opening gifts and having to step away that is! We wanted to wait until after the holidays. Thankfully I'm not hugely uncomfortable or having issues of pre-term labor so waiting until 33 weeks worked for me.

Mine will be Feb 8th and I'll be 28 weeks. We needed to work around the holidays and also my niece's bridal shower which will happen the week before. My hosts didn't start planning until after the holidays or we probably would have had it in January.

I will be 32 weeks and that makes me very nervous. I tried to explain to my friend that we needed to have it a little earlier, since it was twins, but I dont think she really understands. I think since I have been fine through out the pregnancy that no one gives it a second thought. I hope we are still doing as well as we are now. We also cant take our multiples class until I am 31 weeks, even though they recommend it be taken early in the second trimester.

Mine are set for 29 weeks. Around late Feb. I was worried about bedrest and I wanted to be the one to help decorate and put away stuff with DH rather then him do it by himself. So therefore we all thought the earlier the better but not too early.

I had mine at 31 weeks and it was an amazingly hot day in April!! I was pretty beat up afterward but part of that was because I had so much family in town and did so much visiting over the 3 day weekend that I pushed myself too hard...

my work shower wound up being my last day of work 35+3 days - I had a dr's appt scheduled in the middle of my workday planning on going back up to work for the rest of the party and the doc signed me out - I went back to work long enough to sign paperwork and clean up my desk!
