My sister and my best friend are supposed to be planning my baby shower for me and I have told them many times that it needs to be before I am 30 weeks (which is in 7 weeks). They aren't seeming to take that too seriously because neither one has started planning! They are putting me in the middle saying "I can't get ahold of her. She won't answer her phone" They're both saying the same thing! I don't want to be ungrateful and demand that they get their sh*t together but I am getting really stressed out about it. Anyone have any advice?

What a pain! Can you email them both (email rather than phone, so they can see that you're sending the same message to both of them) and suggest that if they're having trouble coordinating, they should pick one person to be in charge of it?

This is a great idea. :good:

I'm sorry you are stressing about this.

Agree with PP, email both, so they see the same message and stress to them the importance of having the shower by 30 weeks. This is your party girl, you shouldn't be stressed over it!!! Good luck! :winking:

I love Minette's suggestion. :good: Don't forget to mention to them all the stress it's putting on you because they should know that and maybe they'll think twice before coming to you for help.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I think I am going to do that. And also include what wonderful babyshowers I threw for both of them all by myself without them having to worry about anything and would like the same in return! :D

my sister and my best friend (who are throwing my baby shower) have been horrible at communicating and planning my shower and taking me seriously that i want it BEFORE I'm 30 weeks. Now that I'm 24 weeks almost 25 and they still haven't sent out the invites I told them if they HAVE to they can do it when I'm 31 weeks but no later. Has anyone had theirs at 31 weeks and were you ok? I just really don't want to be exhausted at my shower or be too exhausted to return things and go use my gift cards that I'm sure I'll receive and set everything up, etc.

I just want to say sorry about your baby shower problem.
I am not even sure that I will get any baby shower. ( might be at work but I am not sure that they will do it earlier enough)

Sorry that your sister and your best friend are not on top of things. I had my shower scheduled for 28 weeks 2 days, and my girls made their arrival on 28 weeks 1 day. As long as things are going fine for you, 31 weeks shouldn't be too bad. I hope you get it all worked out!

Sorry they weren't able to have it when you wanted it

I had a few showers & enjoyed the 1st one the most. I had more energy & was able to have more fun :good:
I think my first one was around 28 weeks, the 2nd at around 33 and the 3rd at around 34 weeks (I had a really hard time at the last one, luckily my MIL/SIL threw it at my house so I could be comfortable & have all the gifts already at home).

Good luck & have fun :)

I will be having my shower at 33 weeks. My twin sister backed out throwing my shower so I sent out my own invitations & got the ball rolling. Friends ended up volunteering to help out so now things are all set. Maybe you need to just sent out the invitations yourself to proof a point to them that you want things done on your time line. I'll tell you one thing..... I'm 29 weeks currently and don't know how much more I can take... My babies are kicking up a storm, my back is killing me and I look like a HUGE house!!!!! (I've only gained 22 lbs so far) But, I'm soooooooo uncomfortable already. I just hope that I can make the shower!!!!

    Good Luck!!!!

I am sorry that they are not communicating and listening to your needs.
I had my shower at 33 and 1/2 weeks and I did okay. I was useless the next day but, I did enjoy the shower. I have also been lucky and had a fairly easy and uneventful pregnancy. I hope everything works out for you.

I completely understand. My shower will be this weekend even after I asked that it be sooner than that. Now my feet are swelling so badly that it is difficult to stand and walk around. I am sure everything will be fine and I am looking forward to it. I know my friends have worked hard to get it all ready.
Hopefully yours will be succesful as well.

I understand exactly how you feel! My aunt and cousin are dragging their feet. I don't know what to do.

I didn't have one since I had just moved. My brother's wife was kind enough to throw a very small one of 3 people which I really appreciated. I think more than the presents you just want to sit around with other women and talk about what it is like to have a baby and finally become a mom. I hope things work out for you, I found I was sore throughout most of my twin pg so I'm not sure if anytime is good, but the earlier the better. One less thing you need to stress about right now.

My church had one for us when I was 25 weeks..but we have been thru alot with TTTS and we finally had what we felt was like a good news with the twins.. They know I won't be able to travel much more except doctor appointments so they wanted to go ahead and have it then. I am sure glad they did because it has helped tremendously in knowing what I have left to buy.

I'm having one this weekend, and I'm 31 weeks... I'm not feeling too bad and my husband told me he'd wheel me around in a wheelchair in stores to return things if needed! :)
