I was wondering if anyone had cute ideas for baby shower centerpieces? I was thinking about this today and was wondering if there was anything twin related, or just plain cute for a baby shower? I have about 70-80 people invited and would want something that is practical, but not too expensive. Any ideas?!!? My shower is in one month(at 33 weeks, 5 days-but who's counting?!!?!)! Oh! And any cute games/twin games?! For 80 ppl and dh's side is Italian, some from Italy, so something easy would be good too! Any help would be appreciated! I'm going to go search the internet in the meantime!

    And...Whoohoo to 27 weeks today!!! B/B twins! :icon_biggrin:

At my baby shower for my son they had the cutest centerpeices I had ever seen - they did a "theme" for each table - Potty Time, Bath Time, Play Time, Feeding Time, Mommy and Daddy Time, etc. They had a gift bag in the center and then baby items that fit that theme - like bottles, baby food, bibs, etc. for feeding time. I don't think it would be the cheapest centerpeice, but you do get to keep all of the stuff. Maybe not the best idea if you are throwing the shower yourself but wanted to put it out there just in case :)

There are a lot of games you can find on the internet if you search for baby shower games. That is where I found mine. Sorry, I don't remember the address.

We played the toilet paper game. First you stand up and let everyone get a good look at you. Then you pass a roll of toilet paper around to each person. Everyone has to take as much toilet paper off the roll that they think will fit around your belly. After everyone has taken their squares, someone measures you to see how many it takes. Closest one wins.

Another game we played was the safety pin game. Everyone gets one when they walk in the door and they are told that if they say a certain word and someone hears them, they get their safety pin taken away. You can choose words like cute or baby, pink, something that is bound to be said a lot during the shower. The person with the most at the end, wins a prize.

There is also the diaper game. You melt chocolate candy bars inside a diaper in the microwave and people have to guess what kind of candy bars they are.

For my shower, my sister had a diaper cake and some baby bottles she filled with candy. She also had some letters that represented their names that she had painted on the table. Behind the table she made what looked like a clothes line and hung some socks, onsies, and their bath robes on it. It was really cute.

Hope this helps. Have fun at the shower!

For the centerpieces I was going to suggest the diaper ones, like a pp. Also, you can find baby footprint shaped lollipop bouquets (in pink, blue, yellow or mixed!) online that are super cute - I did that for a friend once.

As for the games - I am not a huge fan of shower games anyway, but then I had about 40 ppl at my main shower and it was just too many to get anything going. If you'll have 70+ people, games may be VERY difficult to coordinate. Why not do something a little different instead -- have people write notes with advice to each of the babies. You would need pens, stickers, etc, plus at least one notecard per child per year (from birth thru 18 years). Anyone who wants to participate takes a notecard and draws a name/age (like Baby A - age 14 or Baby B - age 10) out of a hat. Then they write down advice or wishes for that child at that age. They seal them, and the kids get to open them up on their b-days and see what advice or good thoughts your friends and family had to share with them for the upcoming year.

I did my sister's baby shower a few months ago and I needed it to be easy. Instead of diaper cakes we took diapers tied with blue ribbon and piled them into baskets. And, we used fresh flowers for other center pieces. We got them from Wal-mart, they're cheap and they last usually a long time.

    THE YARN GAME..
YOU STAND IN THE MIDDLE AND EVERYONE GUESSES HOW BIG YOUR BELLY IS..

THEN THEY PULL YARN AND MEASURE..

WHO EVER IS CLOSEST WINS A DOOR PRIZE..

ITS INTERESTING TO SEE PEOPLES PERCEPTIONS..

I remember playing a game once where everyone took a piece or two of gum (a squareish piece, like bubble-yum), and used it like modeling clay to make a baby, and then the mom chose her favorite.

If you know the sex of your twins, maybe you could personalize it, using blue/pink gum for B/G twins, etc.

For my shower, a friend made a "two peas in a pod" centerpice out of reciving blankets and diapers....

I wish i had a pic to show you - it was too cute! she used two green striped reciving blankts for the "pod" -- tied them together with ribbon at each end -- and two totally green smaller reciving blankets for the "peas" (she wraped diapers with rubber bands until they made balls that were flat on the bottom, then covered them with the green recving blanket -- and then she "stuffed the pod" with smaller cylanders of rolled up diapers to fill it out. it was SO cute! (and it actually looked easier then the diaper cakes - which is what i usually make)
