My SIL has wanted to do my shower since before i was ever prego. Well the other day she asked when i would want to have it. I told her really the earlier the better. I told her probably end of nov/beg of dec. Well i was looking at the calander and i will be 29w the 1st weekend of december. She said that she was going to have to save up money and wanted to do it in december. I am really worried about the twins (mo/di) coming early, or that the shower will be so late that i will be very uncomfortable. DH says that it is plenty early and not to really worry about it.. I guess my concern is that i wanted everything to be done early. Like im going to try to have the nursury done in October (with the exception of what i will register for)

I don't know mabye my worries are unfounded, but i wanted to get your opinions on this.

    TIA!

I had my baby shower at 29 weeks and it was the perfect timing for me. I wasn't too huge or uncomfortable but it wasn't too early. :good: Personally, I thought 29 weeks was early but it turned out okay.

I had mine at 28 weeks and it was fine! I wasn't super uncomfortable ... I thought it wasn't early enough, as I was SO scared of them showing up early .. .but all was fine. I went onto to deliver at 36w3d.

I just had mine this past Sunday. I am 28 weeks. It was perfect. I was exhausted when the day was over. I think if the shower were much later I wouldn't have been able to enjoy it as much. I wanted to have it earlier so that I could make sure I didn't need to cancel.

I had mine at a little over 30 weeks and it turned out good I was not feeling the greatest, but they don't last very long anyway.

Mine was at 29 weeks and it was perfect. You shouldn't have to do much besides sit there and be pampered anyway so I think it will be fine.

I wanted to make sure I was going to make it to all of my showers so I told everyone to plan early. . . Well, I think God laughs at us a little when we try to plan things ;o) because two days before my first shower I was put on bed rest!! I was 30 weeks.

So my input would be to try to plan it early but don't be surprised if you hear a little chuckling ;o)

I had mine at 26 weeks and I'm glad I did. I got so uncomfortable around 28/29 weeks (i remember because it was Christmas).

some women though are totally fine! I did work until week 32 so it's not like it was unbearable!!

i'm sure it will be okay.

I had mine at 28 weeks and to be honest I was glad, I was able to enjoy myself I wasn't huge and tired. By 31 weeks I had sciatic pain and was huge, I also wanted the nursey and things put together before my 35th week in case I went early...I didn't I was 5 days from my DD. After the shower there's alot to put away though, lots to put together find space for everything. I think it would be wise to have your shower before 30 weeks to give you time in case you do go early.

My shower was exactly one week before the boys were born. I thought 32 weeks was early enough, but I was really uncomfy. She may be trying to throw you off though. I had a surprise baby shower from my family the day after my friends threw me one!

I didn't want to worry about this at all so I had my shower after they were born.

My mom has my shower planned for when I am 30.5 weeks November 8th. I too am feeling the same way. Worried about not having everything done, washed and put where it needs to go in time for the delivery. I already started the nursery I couldn't wait! I had the walls painted and bought the bedding for both cribs. We are going this weekend to buy the second crib (we already have our sons) and the changing table. I plan on having the nursery done soon so that by my shower I can just move things in to be put away. I was worried that 30 weeks was too late wondering if I will feel up to par to put things away, wash clothes etc. but my dear mommy said she will do it for me if I am not able to.

What you are feeling is exactly how I feel. U never know how u will be feeling weeks away.

I'm having mine at 26 weeks 2 days. I felt like this would probably be a good time so I can still get up and move around and enjoy myself. I really wanted to be able to enjoy putting things away and do all the finishing touches on the nursery. I'm glad I scheduled it at this time because my hostess just called yesterday and said her husband just told her they were going to be out of town that weekend!! I can't believe it. I have people coming into town and they have their tickets and they can't change the date so I'm keeping the date, having another friend host it, and having it at my house now. I'm pretty upset about it but they both insist it will go over wonderfully. I just have major cleaning to do and I can barely do much now...I can't imagine if I was having it later. YIKES!! ;) Luckily I have 3 day weekends for the next 2 weekends. :) I think 29 weeks will be fine as long as you don't have to do much and you can just relax. Good luck!

I had my family shower at 26.5 weeks and I felt really good. I had a work shower at 28 weeks and had just been put on bedrest and missed it. I think the earlier the better!

Mine was last weekend at 28w 4d and I was uncomfortable as can be. I really feel like i've "hit a wall" that i've heard so much about here and would have preferred it a week or two earlier. My next one's scheduled for sept 7th and i'm thinking it'll be pretty hard too. I'm really huge right now and dealing with regular contrax and pelvic pain, so i pretty much feel like doing nothing! I'd say the earlier you can have it, the better...if not, I hope december works out for you and your l.o.'s cooperate!!

Mine was at 29 weeks and I stll felt great. However, I wouldn't want it much later. I feel like crap now and can hardly walk from the pressure at 32 weeks!

mine was at 31 weeks and I did ok - the walking around TJ Maxx the next day killed me moreso than the shower!

I would try to have it that first week of December. That gives your sister time to save and you probably won't be too uncomfortable at that point. You'll also have some energy left to organize the presents.

Having a baby shower after that point isn't going to be too difficult on you for those few hours but getting everything washed and put away afterwards will take a lot longer because you'll get tired more quickly and be less efficient.

You also want to have the baby shower as far from Christmas as possible. :)

Im having my shower Around the first week of November. I will be 33 weeks. People think Im crazy, But my ultimate plan is to work up to the 1st of November. So far so good, no real discomfort/pain. DR is being supportive of my 'crazy plans'.

I think a baby shower should be done when ever it is best for the MOM. If thats at 28 weeks for you go for it!!!!!

I say go for it! I had my shower when I was days shy of 32 weeks. Personally, I felt totally fine. I was probably a bit tired-but it was so worth it!

I had mine at 30 weeks and it was fine. I was a little tired but seeing everyone was so fun that it energized me, and I mostly sat in a chair anyway. I had plenty of time to wash everything and put stuff away, since I stopped working at 28 weeks and had nothing else to do but wait...and wait...and think...

Have fun and enjoy and don't worry!
