When you regestered did you put on there what you wanted or the cheap stuff so people could buy it for you without griting their teeth? I figured when I was regestering I would do the items that I would like to have not the cheap ones I would settle for if someone didn't get them for me. But now I'm second guessing myself. No one has "said" anything about it but... For example my aunt and grandma were going to get me a double stroller. Well I registered for the graco quattro tour duo that is $250. Well they did research and found they could get one for $150 and that's what they were going to do until someone told them about the one I had registered for and they were like "oh well we better get more people to money in on this." So it made me wonder.

What did you guys do? I'm sure I can't be the only person who used the registery as a kinda "wish list", can I? My husbands family did the same thing when we said how much something cost that we were wanting. Stuck up their noses like we were being greedy. Now I did not put the most expensive thing of each item on there. I went to the store and looked at the items read the reviews online and added the ones that I thought would best for the cost and it happened to not all ways be the cheapest thing they had.

    TIA

When I registered-I felt guilty about registering for things-especially because they were twins! I know-crazy..but I did. We registered for the Graco Duoglider-which was $250 as well. We got it. I know my cousin and her daughter went in on it. And to be honest-we got everything-with the exception of the bedding for the boys- at our shower(70 people), on top of doing a diaper raffle(we got over 3,000 diapers=7 months worth). Go ahead and register for what YOU WANT. People can give gift cards or buy something not on the registry. It's up to them.

I also researched items and wasn't going to put something on the registry that did not get good safety ratings, etc. It's supposed to be an exciting event...If people don't want to buy whatever-so be it. Just make sure you enjoy it!

I registered for a variety of things in all different price ranges, so it wasn't a problem. I got almost everything that was on my registry and then some. Also if someone doesn't buy you exactly what you want, you can always take it back. Have fun registering!

I registered for what I wanted, regardless of price. I figured at least I would have a list somewhere for when DH and I had to buy what was needed.
Well...we got pretty much everything (we had already bought our cribs separately, not on registry) but we got the following big items:
    2 infant car seats
    2 convertible car seats
    2 bouncy swings
    2 high chair seats
    double stroller
    double snap n go

In addition, tons of clothes, bathtub, towels, sheets, bottles, nipples, pacis, boppy's, blankets, etc etc.

I did register for a variety of prices (pacis and lotions to strollers) and was honestly shocked by how generous everyone was. Most of the big stuff got purchased early on. Some people did go in together for the larger items so it worked really well for us.

I registered for everything I wanted/needed for the babies. I know a few different groups are pitching in and buying bigger gifts and some are buying smaller things and if someone doesnt like whats on my registry theres always clothes or gift cards. i figured I wanted to take advantage of the registry completion coupon...plus....I have so much going on I need a check list somewhere which is what my registry has turned into. As I buy things at BabiesRUs or somewhere else if I find it cheaper I go online and mark it off as purchased, so its been very helpful in keeping my head organized.

We registered for what we wanted. Of course, it was just for a singleton last time, but like others have said, we had things in all price ranges. We had the carseat for $100, the PNP for $150, and then we had things like a pack of towels for $10 and crib sheets for $8.

You have to register for what you want and if you get something different and dont want it then just politely return it to at least get their money towards something you do want. Don't feel guilty, especially if this is your first. You research what is best for your needs and you can't help the prices. Do high costs, medium costs and kinda let them have a few $40 options. $40 is about the max I would want to spend on someone otherwise I would just get them diapers. Hope you get what you want/need!

Well to be honest, hubby and I weren't going to register at all since this is baby # 6 & 7. We thought what they hey, we had time to kill while we were in Cincinnati, Ohio during all our tests for TTTS so we though lets just do it. We hardly put anything on it, when we returned home from Ohio my momma called and said I am meeting you after your doctor appointment and we are going to add to that small list you did. Well needless to say my momma added alot, but it helped because there were things I hadn't thought of since this is twins, and further more we got rid of everything after our last because we thought it was our last. Our church is being so sweet and giving us our baby shower this Sunday since I am pretty confined to the house, they wanted to make it now before I just can't travel at all. They were all very glad I put alot of options on the list. I say put on it what you want/need and then go from there. I am excited about our shower even if we get nothing on the list, because it is the sweetness of others just caring that matters. We had planned on getting what we needed for the twins anyway so this is just a sweet blessing.

For the most part we did register for what we wanted regardless of price. We bought all the furniture ourselves and my mom bought the bedding though. We also didn't pick expensive stuff in general. I also tried to register for the item at the store where it was cheaper (between WalMart, Target and BRU). I did downgrade on a couple of things from what I really wanted and I regretted it later - both boys hated the exersaucer I picked because it was cheaper :) I also still shopped craigslist and ebay and if I got a good deal on things secondhand I would buy them and pull them from the registry. We were pleasantly surprised at some of the larger things we got. DH work group went together and got us our stroller (DuoGlider for $150). His ex-boss got us the jumperoo.

DH and I registered for everything and I am so happy that we did. Because we wanted a list of what we needed. Another plus, we registered at BRU and they offer a 10% discount to finish your registry. We got everything.....double stroller (City Mini by Bay Jogger $399), Chicco infant carseats, high chairs, play mats, bouncer seats....we got it all! We are very fortunate in this time of financial struggle for many people.

I say, Go for it...what do you have to loose?

We registered for what we wanted regardless of price & figured that we would just end up buying what we didn't receive in the end.
We did end up getting almost everything that we had asked for luckily :)
I did make sure that I had things in all price points on my registry though, something for everyone!
I even put 2 pks of binkies on my registry :good:

I registered for things that I thought--based on doing lots of research!!--were good deals, as in, good value for money. If something is cheap but wouldn't work well and consequently wouldn't last long or wouldn't end up getting used, it's not a good deal. I did register 3 different places and would register for each thing at the store that had the best price, so that was one way to save people money.
