My girls are really starting to roll around so I want to get the babyproofing done before they really start crawling/climbing.

I have outlet covers and DH is in the process of mounting dressers etc to the wall.

    What else for now??

Drawer and cabinet latches. As soon as they start crawling everything in the drawers is coming out, lol! Also, move anything on low shelves up, up, up. You might want to start closing the bathroom door, the toilet paper roll is a favorite target around here. Good luck!!

I bought gates to keep them out of the kitchen (which has a door to the basement) for now and family room that has all of our older kids things in.

Gates? Toilet paper? Water dispenser (poland spring thing) Wires/Cables? Sharp corners on tables? TV access? Animal food? Things that move easily like computer chairs? Chemicals? Small Trashcans? Door Handles? Stove? Fridge? I would probably just worry about everything and get it out of the way... Can't think of anything else...

One other one = Depending on what you have on windows - getting blind cords up.

our pedi told us to get down on the floor and crawl around- it looks different from down there. looking for anything they can pull (electrical cords, etc), accessible doors/cabinets, etc., anything small that can go in the mouth, anything they can reach and tear up/destroy (picture albums). i also now have to keep the dogs bowl up on the counter when he is not eating. i still have not figured out what to do with his water bowl! (any ideas?!?!) in the kitchen we put up the latches, but left a couple drawers/cabinets accessible where things aren't breakable or dangerous. that way they can "explore" and feel like they are winning something- so much is off limits!!! they play with the tuperware and our water botttles/plastic mixing bowls. DS LOVES that. I find i am sweeping more often too, as there is lot of dirt that accumulates and of course ANY little pebble/hairball goes right to the mouth. yuck!
my husband is also going to try to rig something up to put in front of the DVD/VCR/Stereo system, as DS is INFATUATED with the buttons. if yours is in reach, you may want to think about that too.
