Did anyone notice prevacid caused their babies to be gassy? What to do?

 

I never noticed that the prevacid caused gas. ardon:

 

prevacid doesn't cause gas, it can however cause upset stomach & headaches (which is why we dont use it anymore). It was keeping them up at night... that could be why your babies are fussing in the middle of the night.

 

hi! :wavey: just a quick suggestion, if you create a ticker for your signature file that tells us how old your babies are, we can give you much better and much more specific advice for your question. there's a stickied thread at the top of the forum that contains a link to instructions for how to create a ticker and add it to your sig file (similar to the one at the bottom of my post).

we never noticed any side effects with prevacid. definitely keep an eye on it because you may not necessarily have the same experience as others. that said, the prevacid might not be the only variable you're dealing with. what are your babies eating (formula? breastmilk? solids?)

we used mylicon gas drops when necessary, since reflux meds don't address gas issues. you can also do very light tummy massage, or pedaling their legs like they're riding a bicycle. that sometimes helps work difficult gas through.
