Baby Pool - at what age?

Since our DD's are not sitting up unassisted at the moment, we feel it's a little too early to introduce them to a baby pool just yet. When did you first introduct your little ones to the kiddie pool?

Just curious since it's getting pretty warm here in the Northeast these days.

    Thanks!

We didn't do a baby pool until they were sitting fairly well on their own. :good:

Mine are a little older than yours and it just started being consistently warm enough here to introduce them to a pool. We took them in the big pool last weekend and I just bought a baby pool today, which we'll use this weekend. Both of mine are sitting up fine on their own, one of them can crawl and get into sitting position. I wouldn't do it if they weren't sitting well on their own, though.

I also just graduated them to the big bath tub this week - because they are sitting so well. So far so good!

Yeah probably when they can sit up fairly good, unless you have bath seats you could use in the pool! ;) I don't think my babes will be getting in the kiddie pool this summer myself, but we shall see!

We also waited until they were sitting up very well. Even then, we only put a little bit of water in, just enough for them to splash. BRU makes a small pool for about $5. It was perfect for that first summer.

We introduced the baby pool when they were around 6 months, what we did was stick their bebe pod seats in the pool and have them sit there and DH and I would splash them wet and they could stick their toes in the water. As the summer progressed and they sat up better, we stopped using the bebe pod seats.

Same here. Although the bath seats and bumbos would work.

How fun! I never even thought about getting a baby pool for the summer. The bumbo seats in the pool is a great idea too. I'll definitely have help with me if we do try it. It's going to be fun in the pool and tub when they can sit on their own. Have fun!

We recently just let the twins in the water and they love it. I try to make sure it is warm and fill the pool up about 2 hrs before hand so that the the water is warm for them. We got them the fish shaped pool from academey that has the sprinkles around the edge (11.50) you don't have to blow it up and there isnt that much water in the pool. It is big enough for the two of them and one or both us to play in too

we just got in ours last weekend too. the pool warmed up quickly in the sun and we put them in their bumbo seats in the water... we got in the pool after the sun was not shining directly on it.

Great ideas! We do have two bumbos already and never even thought to use those. I imagine we'll be giving it a shot before the summer is out.

    Thanks everyone!
