Everytime I think I know where they are, I end up learning they're not there via ultrasound.
I have this fear that one is going to stop moving and growing and I won't notice because the other one is active.
How soon could you tell who was who?

The bigger they get the less they can move around that much where you wouldn't be able to tell which is which. The kick counts are to make sure that there is some kind of movement. My doctor told me that there was no way I could tell who was moving just as long as there was movement. good luck!

    Thanks
I get so paranoid, because one is smaller than the other and because of my previous losses.

I had the exact same thing happen too. It's pretty hard to tell especially when they get really big and space becomes a thing of the past.

Are you already doing kick counts? My doctor said I will not start them until 32 weeks.

I have a history of stillbirth, so yeah. The doctor's haven't mentioned it, but I do it for my own peace of mind.

I have no idea who is who and who is where. I just feel for my 10 kicks. I have been doing the kick counts for at least a month. They will start me on weekly NST at 34 weeks.

The movements are also more subtle with these two than they were with DD. I don't miss those hard painful kicks- that is the one upside.

I know how you feel- I am also very concerned/worried that something will go wrong, but remember, one of the babies could be kicking the other one instead of kicking you..... so you're not feeling that movement.

Thanks everyone, that makes me feel better :)
I knew what part was what with my singletons, this is so much different.

Now, is it common for them to go more on one side? I always feel like my right side is more solid/bigger than my left- like my left I can push in but my right is hard, almost like when you have a contraction- but all the time.

I have not had to do kick counts...as long as I feel movement throughout the day my doc said that was fine.

You really have to ask questions and use common sense as far as telling who is who. My daughter has stayed on my left side the whole time but she is turned inward so I do not feel her as much. also my placenta is located in front of her...which makes the movements seem less strong. My son is on the right and I feel him more but they are both doing fine as far as my MD is concerned.

I worried about it alot at first but at the end you go to the doctor so much that you always get reassured that they are doing fine! Hope this helps!

I couldn't start telling who was who until I was about 34 weeks. And only because one was breech and one wasn't. I would get kicks on my bladder or really down low, and then I would get kicks up high, near my ribs.

Yes, they do tend to migrate to one side of the body sometimes. I feels really weird when you try to get up and you literally feel heavier on one side!

Hi, what helps me is when I visit my specialist I ask the sonographer how are the babies positioned and when I go in to get the results of my ultrasound from the specialist I have them to literally touch my stomach to show me the area where I should feel movement from-and that helps me to know who's who. For example baby A is head down-so everything that I feel below and in my belly area is A...and baby B is at the top in a transverse position his head is on A's spine and feet is beneath my right breast near my ribs-so everything that I feel up top is baby B.And I am so happy to learn today that I am now going to be seeing my specialist on a weekly basis now.Good Luck and I hope that I helped.
