We recently bought the Baby Jogger City Classic double stroller, and it seems like an awesome stroller. We've only used it once so far on a stroll in the neighborhood, though we had plans to take it to a festival the other week...but couldn't get the darn thing to fold  And it has been sitting in our dining room ever since. I have watched the (very short) online video 10 times on the Baby Jogger website showing how easily it folds...but when we pull up on the handles in the seats nothing happens, except the whole darn stroller lifts up! Grrr. I'm sure we are doing something wrong, but before I call customer service I wanted to see if anybody else here has the BJCC and can offer some helpful hints. We have unsnapped the safety strap thingies below the seats, but it still won't fold.

    Thanks in advance!

Try giving those two straps a good hard yank. Sometimes the mechanism that folds is a little stiff (especially if the stroller is new). And give both of the straps a yank at the same time.

Wish I could offer more except to say just takes practice and time. The newer it is the harder it is. just takes doing it over and over again.

are the straps unsnapped from the bar underneath? we have the citi mini and it will not fold if you have snapped the "pull to fold" straps (as directed for safety) onto the frame underneath the seats.

I'll look more closely at the snaps under the seat this evening and give it another go. Will update later and let you know if we've had success. I hope we can figure it out, because there is a brewery festival in town we would like to go to tomorrow and we hope to take the boys in this stroller, heh :) If not we've got the snap n go.

I lift it off the ground by the straps and then give a hearty tug simultaneously and it folds.
If you do have trouble, baby Jogger has great customer service!

May I hijack this thread with a city classic question?

I'm debating between the city classic and the city mini and would love your opinions. The classic looks good because the bigger tires mean it can handle a wider variety of terrain (though I won't be jogging at all or doing much on trails, etc.-- bumpy sidewalks and occasional gravel, etc. is about as far as I go). And I think it fits bigger kids longer. But it also has a reputation for being heavy. And the city mini has a great reputation for being lightweight.

So, I'm not sure which aspects outweigh the other. How did you decide to buy one or the other if you did?

Hijack away! :) I knew we would be taking a stroller on bumpy sidewalks and trails a lot (when we do take the stroller out, which won't be every day), so I chose to go for the heavier City Classic. It is rather heavy, but I also know we won't be using it every day. Plus I have my hubby to do the heavy lifting ;) Though I would have no problem getting the City Classic out of our RAV4's hatch by myself either. It just would be a little cumbersome. I guess you will need to decide how much you will be using the stroller. If you think you will be using it several times a week you may want to go with the City Mini. I haven't had to lift my CC in and out of the car much so I won't be much help on your decision. But hopefully others will be!

BTW, thanks to those who replied to this thread. I WAS able to get our stroller to fold!! You're right, its a bit stiff at first and it took a good firm yank and pulling up, but she finally folded - yay!

WE just finished this debate. The classic and mini were our final two choices. We ended up with the city mini. My DH was leaning towards the classic, b/c the price was about the same (it was on sale) and b/c he liked the tires. However, like you, we are only using it for walks on sidewalks and gravel and have read and been told that the mini is fine for this. The winning reason for us was the weight. I do go out a lot with the boys on my own and wanted one that I was able to maneuver fairly easy. I never picked up the classic, but I did pick up the BOB and I believe those are the same weight--and it was just too much for me to lug in and out of the car. If I didn't plan on going out much on my own we would have ended up witht he classic, but I love the mini--we just got it last week and I have already taken them out twice in it and it was no problem getting it in and out.

If interested, the classic was on sale at albee baby about 2 weeks ago. And even though the coupon says you can't get 10% off the baby joggers, I was able to use it and get 10% off the mini---it's hard to find it cheaper than $400 anywhere. So we used "10off" at albee baby and got it for $360 w/ free shipping and got it within 3 days!

Good luck---it tooks us weeks to figure out what to get!

The mini wasn't out yet when we bought ours. I do like that it fits bigger and taller kids comfortably. Ounce in awhile my almost 5 year old will jump in, he is comfortable and no problem to push.
I like the bigger tires and seems it will be more durable.

It is not light but I have no problem getting it in and out of the van or carrying it out of the house.

I am sure you will be happy with your choice.
