Do these work well for twins? Can I get away with just one or will I need two? Im looking at the Amby and the Happy Hangup. THanks!

Those sure look comfy! I used a small crib in the beginning and one regular size crib until 6 months. Now they each have their own crib.

I didn't even know they made such a thing as an infant hammock, but I would say that whatever the cost I think they would be worth it. I have an adult size hammock and a hammock chair swing. For a while now I have been placing a cushion in the hammock chair swing and a blanket in the hammock so their little feet and hands don't get tangled. When absolutely nothing will calm the boys down - they can be screaming until their little faces are purple I can put them in the hammock and the calm is immediate. We go for walks and come back home and the little guys and I will go to the shade tree and I'll put them in the hammock with me and we'll lay there and talk and coo - they love the hammocks. They're only four months old - now everyone has caught on, and when they won't calm down, I'll find my hammock has been confiscated. I've made pictures of the boys laying in the hammock on their blankets. Of course with an adult hammock there are no safety harnesses, etc. so I have to stay right at hand to make sure they are safe (can't fall out, can't get tangled, etc.). I can only imagine how an infant hammock would make things even easier. I'm not exaggerating when I say they are instantly soothed when we get into that hammock. We have some really quality time outside in the shade swinging to our hearts content. One piece of advice if you use and adult hammock, cover it with a blanket, either place them in the hammock with you or sit or stand right beside it so they can't topple out or get tangled. If you get in the hammock with the little ones, make sure the hammock is low to the ground so you can sit in it while holding the infant and then recline. You don't need to try to be climbing in a taunt hammock that's high up with the possibility of throwing both you and baby out. My husband extended the ropes so it's lower to the ground for us and I can get in and out easily. Better yet - buy the infant version - I didn't even know they had them. I thought I was on to something new with the adult hammock - now I'm spoiled to it as well. I don't think I could give up my special time with the boys in the hammock.

i used the ambi hammocks for 3 months. they were fantastic. i could rock one to sleep while breastfeeding the other ( i sat on a small chair).

you can tap the bottom of the hammock and it feels like you are holding them. Put the babies quite high up in the hammock, which is meant to be great for digestion (and colic and reflux if you have to deal with that0>

It is impossible for them to roll over because they are cocooned in the hammock. Their is plenty of air flow through it because its made of mesh and netting.

You can throw the mattress in the wash if you need to.

Definetly 1 hammock each. i hired them from a local baby hire shop.
