We had our 6 month appointment yesterday. Aidan is 16lbs 6 ozs and Aerianna is 15lbs 2ozs. THey said they could start solids and said they should be eating 4-6oz of babyfood. Didn't think to ask if it was per day or feeding. Any thoughts?

Great weights! I am thinking that is per day.

I'm thinking they meant per day. My guys eat cereal once a day. I give them about 3 teaspoons each, mixed with lots of liquid. I'm sure they could keep eating but I want bottles to be their main source of nutrition at the moment (they're only 22 weeks). Good luck - solids are lots of fun!

I agree - it sounds like for the whole day to me.

IMO, there is no "should" with solids. 6 months is a good time to start, but they'll eat as much as they eat -- you can't force them to eat more, so don't even try. They may eat only a spoonful per feeding for the first several weeks, or they may be polishing off a whole jar. Have fun! :)

Wonderful weights! I would also say that is per day as well.

Sounds like a great appt. I agree, they probably meant per day.
