My girls are a little over 5 months and they are eating cereal & fruits & veggies, but I haven't started any meats b/c I rarely see stage 1 meats. I have seen where beechnut has a stage 1 turkey. So my ? is when did you start your little ones on meats?

    TIA! [IMG]

Usually around 9 months. The baby meats in a jar are really yucky though, what I did was take some of our meat from dinner, and shred it or crumble it until it was small enough for them to mash it with their gums. But my oldest 2 are practically vegetarians, so I don't know if you want to take my advice. [IMG]

My pedi gave me the go ahead to start at 7 months. I think it all depends on your children, take their lead. Talk to your pedi and see what they suggest.

Both of mine have had minimal amounts of turkey and chicken in their mashed potatos. What I do is after dinner, I grind or process a little leftover chicken or turkey, add some gravy and some mashed potatos and water if its too thick. Then I freeze it in ice cube trays. Hy the time you go to bed they are frozen and you can pop them out, mark the freezer bag and put them in the freezer. It works great and you can't imagine how little time it actually takes (I work too so I know time is of the essence). Also this concoction tastes much better than the jars do. Good luck!

Our pedi gave us the go ahead at 6 months to start meats and juices.

9 mos.... don't do jar meat!! [IMG] I recommend the stage 2 or 3 jars of sweet potato/turkey and apple/chicken......

I'd hold off. They are on the young side for solids as it is and better to get most of their calories from BM/Formula at this point! [IMG]
