Baby first birthday gifts

What are hits for their first birthday? I have two friends who have singletons born around the time my twins were born. So I would like to hear what 1 year olds like.

 

We got my boys ride on toys when they turned one-those were a huge hit! And I got my friends daughter one and that was a HUGE hit when she turned one. My boys have the Laugh-n-Learn Kitchen/Home and those are great toys. We are hoping to get Annabella a chair at some point.. Seeing how her birthday was two weeks ago... Oops!

Or a wagon is good too(for your crew at least). Or outside toys...water stuff, sand/water table, sandbox... To name a few! Happy shopping!

 

Mine loved the ride on/push cars. They played with those for well over 2 years.

 

I agree that anything they could ride on was popular and the great thing is that those toys are still popular now at 3. So you get lots of use out of them, a great value!

Also, a sand/water table if they don't already have one, play kitchen, train table (maybe a bit old for them now, but not for long), I'll keep thinking.

 

I'm all for this thread as everyone is asking what to get the boys... doing home daycare I have MORE than enough toys! The thing they love the most right now... curtains

I know in Canada we can get puzzle stools w the kids names on them.. they're always a hit! Little people are fun too, the busy popper thing (NOISY but the kids love it!) Sand box and sand toys, my boys LOVE the stacking cups.

We gave dh's best friends... ds lol a Thomas train and book when he was born, I knew he wouldn't use it then but will love it in a few yrs! There's nothing wrong w getting them started on a collection early on! If you're buying for little girls, doll house stuff

 

Ride on toys here too. Got my older dd the laugh and learn home and it's STILL a hit, even with my 8 and 3 yr old! We also got the twins a wagon this summer, and a sand and water table, both HUGE fun and lots of room to grow, my 8-3 yr old both love those as well!
